The Government's Effect on Everyday Life Government effects my life everyday in a vast variety of ways. From the quality of the milk that I drink in the morning, to the license and Insurance I need to drive my vehicle to school and work. Government also effects the taxes that are deducted from my salary. The government uses this money to protect consumers and provide services for the public amongst many other things. The first thing that I noticed government effects in my day is the milk that I drink. Milk is a very easily spoiled liquid that must be pasteurized and kept cool so that the consumer will receive a quality and safe product. The government sets standards for dairy farmers as to what kind of feed and hormones they can give their cattle so that the will produce healthy milk for public consumption. The government also inspects the pasteurization process and the distributing of the milk so that the consumer receives a fresh and safe product. Secondly I noticed when I was in my car on my way to work was the license and the insurance that the government requires in order to operate a motor vehicle. The government requires that all drivers pass a drivers test to demonstrate that they are capable of operating a motor vehicle without harming themselves or others. When they pass this test they are giving a drivers license. If the person violates the laws of the road too many times or seriously this license can be suspended or revoked. The government also requires that the driver have insurance. Insurance is required so that in the event of an accident the parties involved in the accident can afford medical care. Thirdly I noticed that government effects how much money is deducted out of the paycheck I receive at work. The government deducts money for many different programs. One of those is the social security program. The social security program is made up of money deducted from everyone's pay this money is distributed when the employee becomes disabled, retires, or passes away. The money is there to protect the worker and their families if that person is no longer able to work. The government also takes money out of my pay for Medicare, Medicare is a program that provides medical care for people that can not afford it. There is also a federal income tax that is deducted and used for a various assortment of programs from road paving to bridge building and many other public needs.
The government has been involved with society for many years. Whether it is just helping people out or controlling taxes, they have developed over time to be even more involved with people’s lives than they were just 10 years ago. Although some societies have their government involved more than others, it is seen in every country and state. In the movie Divergent and the book 1984, it expresses a dystopian society where the government has complete control over one large group of people. They can watch what they are doing every second, and they know everything about the citizens. Both 1984 and Divergent express the same theme of rebellious citizens and complete government control as a whole.
This is the land of opportunity and no matter how much this country denies it, it needs the labor of illegal immigrants to prosper. In order to create a safer America, illegal immigrants should be allowed to obtain a driver’s license because it forces them to be insured, it stops them from being deported when pulled over, and it assists them in contributing to the prosperity of the United States. Illegal immigrants will be obligated to obtain insurance if they acquire a driver’s license. When a motorist tests at a DMV, they are required to prove that they have insurance, so if undocumented immigrants want to legally drive, they are forced to be insured. A majority of the illegal immigrants that drive today do not have insurance, which means that driver protection on the road is not always guaranteed.
We often wonder about the importance of government. Is it necessary? Does it really benefit society? The answer is yes. Many countries have diverse forms of government such as totalitarian, monarchy, theocracy, and much more. The United States of America specifically runs a democratic type of government. A democratic government gives power to the people. Citizens over the age of eighteen are allowed to elect leaders based on their individual opinions through voting rights. The main purpose of the American government is, to protect people’s inalienable rights to life, liberty, property, and the pursuit of happiness as our Founding Fathers intended.
The fear of government control is a leitmotif in many dystopian literature stories; therefore, strong, oppressive central governments feature prominently in this genre. Both Brave New World and 1984 provide examples of this type of government, which superficially appear to be quite different. Although the outward aspects of these governments appear to be in opposition, they both use conditioning and societal manipulation to maintain control of their citizens in worlds affected by industrialization.
Government is important factor for how well the economy does, because government creates laws and policies which should be followed by all, then these polices result to good/ bad of the economy. Such as unemployment, inflations, rate of the economic growth and the balance of payment.
Most parents think getting their teens their driver's license will lift a weight off of their backs when in reality it seems to only do the opposite once the facts of insurance and statistics come into play. The article “Teen Drivers” provides some statistic such as, “A driver’s licence is a ticket to freedom! At last, teens can drive themselves to school, work and recreational activities .”(“Teen Driving,” par 1) This is a fact of how this small piece of plastic placed in the hands on a teen can be seen as a ticket to freedom. Another thing the article states is, “Parents are thrilled because they do not have to chauffeur the kids around anymore.”(“Teen Driving, par 2) This statement reveals how parents get their freedom back as well teens are gaining their first taste of freedom. But also with this freedom most teens don't realize just how scary the road is and when their parents are no longer driving with them they become nervous and many not be as safe as they could be, which leads me to the thought of many they should choose to take certain steps to create safe driving
I believe that I pay too much tax. Before I took an economics' course I did not know where my money went every month. I realized that all the money I paid to the government was benefiting others and not me. The government spends too much money on social security programs. The social security program does not be...
I think government is important, but does not help preserve human society. History has gone throughout time and earlier generations have not had the knowledge and technology that we have today but we have evolved to what we are now without government. I think government is just there to keep everyone in line with laws and our rights and to control terrorism and making big decisions.
One of the major themes in the short story ‘Harrison Bergeron’, is government control and involvement. The story revolves around equality in people, and how the government enforces this. If someone possesses a unique trait or quality, the government issues handicaps, to reduce one’s individuality and make them average. In this short story, the government controls the appearance, ideas, and thoughts of each person. Although it is not as extreme today, I personally think the government has a major part in our daily lives. We experience their control majorly through media and decision making (laws). Most of the news coverage and broadcasts we receive are altered, giving the people in charge authority over what the public knows and believes. For
Government is in all aspects of every day life. Quality of life depends on how effective a government is at ruling and guiding its people. It is challenging finding good leaders who will effectively make decisions for the benefit of the people and who will make sure their country is thriving. There are many types of government, and all of them each have a favorable trait which makes them seem superior to the rest, but some governments are better to others. Due to its effectiveness and way of life, a totalitarian government is better than a democracy.
The government has rules for when one is driving so that has an affect on me as well as many others. Drivers are required to wear seat belts, make sure all the lights on the car are in working order and many more laws similar to those. There are also laws that a driver must follow while the car is moving. These include speed limits, stop signs and stop lights, and work zone areas. If one is to disobey these laws set by the government then one could possibly be fined with a ticket, or one could be detained and taken to prison if the crime is bad enough. No matter were one is on the road, the government is always affecting
The appropriate role of government in the economy consists of six major functions of interventions in the markets economy. Governments provide the legal and social framework, maintain competition, provide public goods and services, national defense, income and social welfare, correct for externalities, and stabilize the economy. The government also provides polices that help support the functioning of markets and policies to correct situations when the market fails. As well as, guiding the overall pace of economic activity, attempting to maintain steady growth, high levels of employment, and price stability. By applying the fiscal policy which adjusts spending and tax rates or monetary policy which manage the money supply and control the use of credit, it can slow down or speed up the economy's rate of growth in the process, affecting the level of prices and employment to increase or decrease.
The monstrous nature of government is evident to the everyday citizen. It is monstrous to oppress the poor and minorities and it is certainly monstrous to declare war on another country and inflict pain and suffering on its people. Yet it is also obvious to the every day citizen that government is necessary to preserve order. Without law or law enforcement, criminals would roam the streets and wreak havoc. Without a military, other countries would invade us violently. Thus, government is a monstrous institution that preserves order in a potentially horrific manner.
The Government dictates so many aspects of our lives that it would most likely be easier to list how they don’t dictate us. In my essay I will give a few of the many ways our Government is ruling our lives.
Government is the entity that controls the actions of state, community or citizens. Government is the one that administers public resources and plays the role of absolute authority of a state or country. As any other government, the government the United Stated of America has developed Social Programs in order to face some community problems. These Social Programs are designed to alleviate and improve living conditions of the community, in other words, improving the lifestyle of the community. Some examples of Social Programs that the government of the United States has created are Social Security Disability, Medicaid, Veterans’ benefits, Food Stamps, Federal Students loans, Head Start Program, Unemployment Insurance and Government Subsidized
