Government is in all aspects of every day life. Quality of life depends on how effective a government is at ruling and guiding its people. It is challenging finding good leaders who will effectively make decisions for the benefit of the people and who will make sure their country is thriving. There are many types of government, and all of them each have a favorable trait which makes them seem superior to the rest, but some governments are better to others. Due to its effectiveness and way of life, a totalitarian government is better than a democracy.
In Animal Farm, one of the main causes of Napoleon's power over all of the animals was his use of propaganda, a classic totalitarian tool. He used it to manipulate the uneducated animals and made them trust the lies he was feeding them. The upperclass in America are very privileged, but the other 90% of America’s population are relying on food stamps and are homeless. Unlike a democracy, there is no discrimination about social classes because in a totalitarian government, money is distributed equally among everyone; therefore there is no social classification of “upper, middle, and lower class”. Everyone is equal.
Many people argue that a totalitarian government is cruel and very corrupt. Dictators are always criticized because their actions aren’t for the good of his people, but a democracy is no different than a totalitarian rule; the only difference is that people living in a totalitarian government are equal, productive, and stable; which cannot be said for people living in a democracy.
