Technology has greatly evolved over the centuries. Machines have been aiding man to ease their work, fight in wars, travel, health, and different aspects of life. Telling time, keeping up with friends, finding information, and many more have never been easier with the making of the computer. The computer has evolved over the decades becoming the need by many people. Students have used computers, laptops, and tablets to help them with their academics. Having such technology seems to be de rigueur in the past years. The Macbook Air and the Ultrabooks are one of the new laptops of 2013. The former was first introduced on January 15, 2008, while the latter was introduced on October 2011. From the design aspect, the Macbook Air stuck to its usual design with a silver aluminum case. The keyboards are chiclet styled, which uses keys in design of small squares. The click pad reacts smoothly to all swipes, taps and gestures. On the other hand, the Ultrabooks designs are quite similar to the Macbook Air with the keyboards and such; however the Ultrabooks trackpad isn't as susceptible as the Macbook's clickpad. The Ultrabook's screen is has a 1920 by 1080 resolution which is clearer than the 1440 by 900 the Macbook gives off. The Ultrabook’s touch screen laptops are up to date compared any mobile device now. The Ultrabook's operating system, which is the Windows 8 version one, comes with its advantages. The biggest advantage of Windows is that it provides ready-made solutions that can be implemented by just about anyone who's ever used a computer (Jennings). The change from Windows 7 to Windows 8 has a change to where the start screen shows programs in different sized tiles. The tiles will give the user an easier access to programs by givi... ... middle of paper ... ...ng which could slow down the processor. The Macbook genuinely has a great battery life, however if the user were to damage the battery it may not be easy to replace. Technology will keep advancing through the days. There are no other ways on ending technology, because man will always figure out ways to find the easy way out. Technology is change, but people don’t like change. The Macbook Air and the Ultrabook, both have many differences, but bring out the best for each other. Through speculations, it seems business men would go for the Ultrabook, since it has it’s multitask ability, and Microsoft offices which seems to benefit more on Windows 8, also its ability to read most office documents than the Macbook Air. The Macbook leans towards the artists, designers and CGI editors. Though, both would really matter on the person’s preferences, biases, and peer pressure.
He wants mac, she wants mac, everyone wants mac. What is so special about it? What Steve Jobs changed was people’s thinking. Everyone thought that every computer can function the same or at least similarly. But NO! It was an amusement that in literally one millisecond, you could have your computer opened already doing your work. To be honest, mac has many disadvantages. You have to pay for apps, games don’t function as well as other computers, but what mac means to me is making all the disadvantageous, to an advantage. It was so simple for Jobs. If you wanted to play games in your computer, he would just respond, well get another one that is not mac. Mac itself made it special and wanting for everyone. The reason was because iPhone had already grabbed people’s mind. With the mac, you could make your iPhone function better. It made it so comfortable for people that had apple phones because you could call, message, facetime, and download music. A reason it made all human beings amused was because the hd screen it had. When you put a video in your mac, you could see everything as hd as if you were there in the video. This made it more wanting for “Skypers” (people who use skype) because it had a better screen, and it looked as if you were prettier. At the beginning max computers weren’t so willing, but when the macbook air came out, it changed the world. How could a computer be so thin? It functioned the same as other computers, but the design
...00, a MacBook Air has significantly more capabilities for such a minor increase in price. Needless to say many Apple products are trendsetting among current technologies.

Apple was definitely “thinking different” when it created the new addition to the Macintosh family, the iMac. It’s creative design and refreshing departure from the computer industry standard of boring beige boxes is gaining this marvel many optimistic reviews. This new personal computer, which is pronounced eye-Mac –the “i” stands for Internet, combines the computer and the monitor in one unit making it, in effect, an updated version of the original one-piece Macintosh. That makes the iMac ideal for people who want to conserve desk space.
The debate between whether to buy Macintosh or buy a PC has been ongoing since Microsoft first introduced Microsoft Windows in November 1984. Apple Macintosh had developed its first personal computer, mouse and graphical user interface (GUI) in January of 1984. The debate has grown and has been the subject of many articles and even is the main high light of various websites. This frequently heated debate has even been compared to the Pepsi vs. Coke debate (Derene, 2009). While the rhetoric has continued the differences between these products has actually lessened, making it possible for some applications to be shared. Even the mechanics of the machines has become similar. Both use Intel processors, and both obtain many of their parts from the same supply companies. The operating systems of Windows Vista and Mac OSX Leopard are very similar when comparing multimedia, Internet and applications (Derene, 2009).
...ucial part in our everyday lives. Yes, students can choose a MacBook Pro or Air over a PC, even a Chrome Book, but for students looking for budget-friendly computers (trust me, there's thousands of them) I bet you that they will choose a Windows 8 or Windows 7 laptop.
Yesterday my dad came home with a new thin laptop from work, this brought me back to my childhood. When I was 5 years old my father was employed to TD bank. Shortly after being hired I (a starry-eyed pre-computer nerd kid) recall him coming home with a big 10 pound workhorse laptop he carried through the years to do his work. Although computers are becoming more compact through breakthroughs in hardware, this is not the reason for my father’s new laptop. An article I’ve recently read brings up the point that users no longer need powerful desktop computers. While companies previously required employees
When attending college, students need to have the right type of tools to help them succeed. A mobile computer is one such tool. Finding the right mobile computer can be difficult. The mobile computer needs to meet certain requirements. It needs to be light weight, fast, and with plenty of memory space. There are many personal computers on the market. There are tablets and there are laptops. One way to decide between a tablet and a laptop is to compare them. The Samsung Galaxy 3 tablet, Microsoft surface tablet are two well know tablets. The HP Pavilion 10 TouchSmart 10ze000 notebook and HP 15-d030nr notebook are two well-known laptops. First, there is the comparison between the tablets.
The Macintosh & PC have plenty to offer between it's operating systems, but takes on it's own path of intending to their machines & draws its audiences to their know-how base on user preferences. The topic that is being introduced in of the major clashes in know-how is Mac Vs. PC, That has always been an argument between the & will always have a debating situation, what side are you'reyou're on. These topics that will be covering today will be hardware, program, pricing, repairs, bugs, & expandability. Covering these assets will help those whom enthusiastic to make a switch or educate themselves on what they enthusiastic to invest in to. Basic learners will grasp on these fundamentals to know what they're using.
The laptop computer has had a tremendous impact in the areas of business, education, government, and personal use. The emergence of portable computing and the laptop computer can be traced to the introduction of the personal computer itself. In 1975, the MITS Altair 8800 was introduced. The Altair is recognized as being the first commercially successful personal computer and the launching point for the personal computer revolution (Sysop, n.d.). Almost simultaneously, the idea of portability (in particular for the business-person) became a major focus in the industry.
After doing this paper and learning more about Windows 8, now I can say that I really like Windows 8 and look forward to learning more so I can be comfortable no matter what device I am using or happen to own. I feel that Windows 8 has a lot to offer everyone since this allows consumers/users to have access to everything with just A Touch Screen away. I hope everyone will visit You Tube and explore all of the videos about Windows 8.
Computers have seen a lot of advancement over the years, and there has been no sign of slowing. With processors getting smaller and smaller the capacity for small computers is increasing. Smart phones, tablets, and notebook laptops have taken over the desktop and with new quantum technology transistors will become obsolete, thus rendering modern processors a thing of the past. Also computers will not need to be controlled by a mouse and keyboard, but with brainwaves, speech, and touch. Touch has already changed the world of computers and speech programs are already in development. It is safe to say that in the next twenty years people will see huge leaps in the field of computers.
In 500 B.C. the abacus was first used by the Babylonians as an aid to simple arithmetic. In 1623 Wihelm Schickard (1592 - 1635) invented a "Calculating Clock". This mechanical machine could add and subtract up to 6 digit numbers, and warned of an overflow by ringing a bell. J. H. Mueller comes up with the idea of the "difference engine", in 1786. This calculator could tabulate values of a polynomial. Muellers attempt to raise funds fails and the project was forgotten. Scheutz and his son Edward produced a 3rd order difference engine with a printer in 1843 and their government agreed to fund their next project.
Thousands of years ago calculations were done using people’s fingers and pebbles that were found just lying around. Technology has transformed so much that today the most complicated computations are done within seconds. Human dependency on computers is increasing everyday. Just think how hard it would be to live a week without a computer. We owe the advancements of computers and other such electronic devices to the intelligence of men of the past.
