Environmental Engineering Along with taking care of themselves, people should also take the welfare of the environment into consideration. If the current treatment continues, the longevity of the environment will rapidly decrease causing multiple problems. Although many people don’t think about what they do to harm the environment, environmental engineers take it upon themselves to accomplish certain tasks such as sampling soils and creating ways to dispose of waste properly in order to preserve the life span of the environment. Many people have never heard of environmental engineers, only the general term engineer. What sets an environmental engineer and a general engineer apart is that environmental engineers build things to better the environment. “Environmental engineers may also be known as public health engineers, sanitary engineers, and waste management engineers (Environmental Engineers). All the related associations to an environmental engineer are environmentally affiliated. An organization was created in order to give credit to these individuals and this group is known as the Environmental Protection Agency (“Environmental Engineering” 71). Environmental engineers are tasked with creating ways to properly dispose of waste whether it be plastic, aluminum, gaseous, or chemical. Environmental engineers act as investigators On average the beginning pay is in between forty thousand and sixty thousand. Depending on position, length of time doing that job, or educational level this number can be increased. This occupation is projected to increase considerably faster than other occupations in the near future (“Environmental Engineering”).
