After reading the novel “The Getaway” by Lamar Giles, I can confidently say that the book’s ending was not emotionally fulfilling. Although I found several elements of the book enjoyable, the development of the relationships within the story, particularly towards the end, failed to captivate my interest. In the final chapter of the book, Jay and his group of friends (Connie, Zeke, and Seychelle) gather “one last time” after Barnabus (the antagonist) has been defeated and all conflict within Karloff Country has finally ceased. Seychelle thanked her friends for everything, “Because this is [their] last time together” (Giles 376). Here, I understand why some readers may think this ending is fitting, as it leaves them wondering what will happen …show more content…
However, I feel that if he devoted a large part of the book to providing us with a background on relationships, he could've provided an ending that had been more fleshed out and had major character arcs. To add to this point, I feel that the ending of the book between Jay and Seychelle was not satisfying at all. I know that this book is not listed as a romance, however, the ending being the typical “They parted ways” left the audience discontented. In my opinion, the ending could have been structured differently, and more uniquely, as this ending was similar to other books of the same genre. Frankly, this style of structure and ending has become overused and boring. I would personally like to see a more thorough ending structured to interestingly develop characters like Seychelle. For me, questions as a reader arise: What will her future hold, now that she is without a powerful title, has lost her name, and has no family? The ending that Giles created where the Seychelles pilot starts taking care of her, again, seemed extremely rushed and almost irrelevant because the pilot, as a character, was only present for a page of dialogue within the 300-page
The ending of this book was a cliffhanger. In my opinion that is the worse kind of ending, but that’s how that writing persuades the reader to get the next book in the series. Without giving too much away about the end of the story, it was very unexpected. To be
The ending of the novel was inspiring. The author suggests the reader to look into great novels, and even supplies a list of novels a personally suggests. He ended with a very ...
...him down. She might have written more paragraphs on each of her main points. There are many more examples in the novel. She had more thoroughly EXPLAINED how each of the direct quotations and situations she used showed that Chato was being let down and how he felt about it. The reader could have gained MORE insight into Chato's life. I wanted to hear more about the relationship between Chato and his family. I wanted to know more about WHY his sister was keeping secrets, and why Chato was so let down by her calling him a little "snitch." It all sounded pretty much like ordinary bickering between a brother and a sister to me. I wanted her to better explain WHY Chato was being let down.Overall, I just wanted to know MORE. She needed to develop each of these examples more fully. She needed to get more "into" the feelings of Chato and explain them to her reader.
No I would not change the ending to this novel at all I love the way it ended
Although I liked the flow of action in this novel, a large number of superfluous characters are introduced in the first part of the book that never get fully fleshed out. Some of the characters more integral to the story also seemed a little shallow in their presentation.
At the end, Susan brings Ada and Jamie back to the countryside to find out her house had been hit by a mom due to the war. Also, their mom left the children after Ada expressed her feelings, and they never said where she went or if she ever came back. Therefore, i wish they could have been a little more of an explanation as to what they go on to do, or a follow up book on how they deal with the war. On the other hand, I think that the book showed lots of great things to display a good meaning overall.
I enjoyed reading about the Traveller’s adventures, his meeting and relations with creatures from the future like the Morlock’s (underground dwellers) and the Eloi (similar to small, unintelligent children). The owner/caretaker relationship between the Morlock’s and the Eloi, although symbiotic in ways, hinted at the decline of the human race based upon events occurring in the Traveller’s current time. That made me wonder, or perhaps I missed it, if the author could have done more to explore how the doom and gloom ending could have been changed. The premise ultimately was that today doesn’t really matter, because humanity was doomed anyway. Another issue, that was a bit depressing, was that since no one really believed the Traveller’s stories of the future, they couldn’t learn from what was said by the
The ending of the book is so much more different than I thought it would have been. I thought the characters were going to like happily ever after and they did not. A smart writer throws loopholes and twists into his or her writing to keep the story interesting. When I think of love stories I think of happy endings. This story came to me as a surprise. It was not a happy ending and I was very sad at the end. The author knows how to control people’s emotions and can easily change them. Now I know that a piece does not have to be what someone might expect to be thought of as “good writing”. A piece can change up the rules of writing and still be considered “good writing”.
Conclusion At the end of the film I feel disappointed that they haven't stayed together, I think she didn't go with him because she had lived in a peaceful community all her life and may have been shocked by the intrusion of violence from the outside world. She loves John, but they are from two different worlds and she also has to think about Samuel on whether or not he would be safe living in another world. The film is very successful in showing the clash of worlds and the differences in community by placing John Book in their society.

This result is also an opinion because the author leaves it up to you to determine how the story will end.

(An evaluation on Everything Stuck to Him and how the ending makes the ending and the story clear.)
The best part of any of novel is the ending and this is no exception
