The human brain, has so many mysteries that it will leave you mind blown. Along with so many questions that may or may not be answered. Such as questions that ask how the brain works, or why am I able to have member past events and more. But, the one that comes to mind is how does the human brain function? Gladly to say that I have done my research and found some answers to things that I’ve been asking for so long, and would be happy to share.
To begin with, I would have to know that the brain is very complex, and in a way it kind of works like a computer, or a chemical factory. Which is why is why the brain the brain is known and sometimes called the human bodies CPU. Not only that, but the brain is also the master control center, in meaning that the brain controls everything that the body does. Including which side of the body does what. For example, let’s say, if the left side of your brain was messed up and didn’t work, than the left side of your body wouldn’t move, but because that right side you’re your brain still works you would only be able to move. The brain produces electrical signals and sends the from cell to cell along pathways called circuits. When does this it constantly receive information from inside and outside the body. The brain then rapidly analyzes the information and sends out messages that control the body functions and actions. The brain can also store information. This making learning and remembering possible, including our source of thoughts, moods, and emotions (Restak 628).

In The article “Brainology” “Carol S Dweck, a professor of psychology at Stanford University, differentiates between having a fixed and growth mindset in addition how these mindsets have a deep effect on a student’s desire to learn. Individuals who have a fixed mindset believe they are smart without putting in effort and are afraid of obstacles, lack motivation, and their focus is to appear smart.. In contrast, students with a growth mindset learn by facing obstacles and are motivated to learn. Dwecks argues that students should develop a growth mindset.
Every parent desires to have a child who will be successful in life. In “Brainology” author, Carol Dweck explains that there are consequences for praising children for their work. Dweck also explains that there are different types of mindsets that enable an individual’s development. She claims that there are two types of mindsets that people have. In a growth mindset, people believe that their most basic abilities can be developed through dedication and hard work ( Dweck 1). Furthermore growth mindset individuals love learning and are resilience that is essential for great accomplishment. (Dweck 1). One more theory, Dweck mentioned was fixed mindset. The cerebrum is one of the parts of the brain that provides equilibrium when it comes to motor skills and plays a petit role in our concentration and language it also normalize our responses to fear and pleasure, with its appearance as an attached part at the bottom of the brain the cerebrum receives inputs from various parts of the brain and the spinal cord. (Pinel, 2009).
Firstly, there is various of sensing activities as in seeing and hearing as in a sense of understanding of what is seen and heard. Secondly the sense of feeling in numerous parts of the body from the head to the toes. The ability to recall past events, the sophisticated emotions and the thinking process. The cerebellum acts as a physiological microcomputer which intercepts various sensory and motor nerves to smooth out what would otherwise be jerky muscle motions. The medulla controls the elementary functions responsible for life, such as breathing, cardiac rate and kidney functions. The medulla contains numerous of timing mechanisms as well as other interconnections that control swallowing and salivations.
The body is controlled down to its core by the central nervous system. The central nervous system consists of the brain and the spinal cord. Both of these are made up by white and gray matter. The brain which has gray matter on the outside and white matter on the inside is responsible for processing the information that it receives from the nerves and spinal cord, sending out responses, and coordinating motor functions. The spinal cord is opposite of the brain and has gray matter on the inside and white on the out. The spinal cord conducts the information or messages it receives from the brain to the body and sends its “research” back to the brain for processing.
The cerebrum is located at the anterior-most part of the brain and is responsible for the combination of complex sensory and neural functions, as well as the initiation and coordination of voluntary activity in the body. It is the largest brain structure in humans and makes up two-thirds of the total mass of the brain (“Cerebrum Anatomy”, 2015). Its surface, a covering made up of grey matter usually 2-4mm thick, is called the cerebral cortex and is mainly made up of the cell bodies of neurons. The cerebral cortex is responsible for integrating sensory impulses, directing motor activity, and controlling higher intellectual functions. It is also responsible for the state of consciousness, which still remains a mystery to neurologists and the rest of the science community (Swenson, 2007).
The human brain is a very complex organ which controls everything that makes us who we are. The function of the brain is broken down into two hemispheres, each responsible for different aspects of the thought process. The left and right hemispheres impact learning by directly controlling the process in which information is analyzed utilizing each hemispheres specific function.

The purpose of this paper to examine the evolution of the human brain that distinguishes them from other species based on the traits that humans possess: such as language, emotional complexity and consciousness. The significance of traits are due to adaptations in humans to promote the survival of our ancestors. Professor Hamilton (2012) discusses that the evolution of the human brain starts with the idea of the Triune brain, proposed by MacLean, whereby the human brain is made up of three parts: Reptilian, Paleo-mammalian, and Neo-mammalian. Animals with the neo-mammalian brain have a more complex brain compared to the other parts, since this is where the neocortex evolved. Humans essentially have this higher brain function which is responsible for our ability to think, make decisions, promote agency, and the ability to relate with each other. This concept fits into the evolutionary process since it shows how the complex the brain has become through evolutionary processes. In essence, as humans, we “have a rich, evidence-based understanding of our behavior that can lead us to plan to be ‘better’ or ‘more successful’ people” according to Professor Hamilton (2012). Thus, shows how evolution plays a significance in understanding human behavior and comparing humans with other species.
Since the brain and the nervous systems are in need of each other to perform their functions it is important to look at the brain and all of it 's features. The brain is the control center that process the majority of all the bodies functions. The spinal cord is responsible for certain simple muscle reflexes but the brain process both conscious and unconscious.

But the human brain is responsible for, thought, feelings, creativity, and other qualities that make us humans. So the brain has to be more complex and more complete than any computer. Besides if the brain created the computer, the computer cannot be better than the brain. There are many differences between the human brain and the computer, for example, the capacity to learn new things. Even the most advance computer can never learn like a human does. While we might be able to install new information onto a computer it can never learn new material by itself. Also computers are limited to what they “learn”, depending on the memory left or space in the hard disk not like the human brain which is constantly learning everyday. Computers can neither make judgments on what they are “learning” or disagree with the new material. They must accept into their memory what it’s being programmed onto them. Besides everything that is found in a computer is based on what the human brain has acquired though experience.
