The Charismatic Hitler
Adolf Hitler, with promises of a new nation - a Germanic world power, economically strong and racially pure - led millions of Germans in their hope for a new national Germany and also led millions to their death. Hitler defined and put a Jewish face on Germany's enemy and promised that an elite national Germany would once more be a leading power on the European Continent (Grolier's). Hitler had an overpowering charismatic personality and by promising relief from unemployment, strength against Communism and Jewry, expansion of German territory, Hitler was able to convince Germans that following him would provide a life of comfort and security.
Hitler had a charismatic personality with a decisiveness and power not found in his political opponents. In an essentially political void, Hitler provided "...the appeal of a strong nationalistic figure" (Soldwedel). Hitler was promising a new elite national Germany that would be a leading world power; a world power that was denied Germany in World War I. The German population felt that in Hitler they had a potential leader that understood his people and his country -- a leader who could repair the ailing Germany. "It is as if [Hitler] spoke to each individual..." (Perry 380). In addition to his influential personality, Adolf Hitler was a master in the use of propaganda and pageantry. With electoral propaganda slogans such as "Freedom & Bread" and a promising that "In the Third Reich every German girl will find a husband!" (The Hisory Place:The Rise of Hitler). Hitler used positive messages and promised economic, social and political benefits for the people of Germany. He understood the power of pageantry, cognizant that unifor...

Adolf Hitler was the leader of the Nazi party, Chancellor of Germany, and leader of Nazi Germany. Hitler was one of the most powerful and notorious dictators of the 20th century. Him invading Poland was one of the main causes of World War two. Eventually Germany was finally defeated in WWII, leaving them financially devastated, and politically unstable.

The setting was perfect as the people of Germany were primed and ready for any leader that would tickle their ears with what they were wanting to hear. World War I was over (#4) and the people of Germany were in an economic depression that crippled the country. The German mark had lost so much value that it took a wheelbarrow full of money to buy a loaf of bread. A good portion of the youth in Germany were raised in fatherless homes. In an article written by Dr. Alice Hamilton, she says this about Hitler's youth: "They were children during the years of the war when the food blockade kept them half starved, when fathers were away at the front and mothers distracted with the effort to keep their families fed. They came to manhood in a country which seemed to have no use for them. Even compulsory military training was no more and there was nothing to take its place" (Perry et. al 358). Hitler, being the sleazy opportunist that he was, capitalized on this state of affairs. In ways that were not politically correct, he was able to influence this segment of the population and hold them in allegiance to his agenda. "Hitler made each insignificant, poverty stricken, jobless youth of the slums feel himself as of the great of the earth, since the youth was a German, a Nordic, far superior to the successful Jew who was driven out of office and counting house to make place for the youth and his like" (Perry et. al 359). The following is an example of how Hitler coerced and manipulated people and how we as managers and leaders can learn from his mistakes. This essay will also address how we can effectively influence people and earn their loyalty. In order to effectively influence peopl...

Hitler was furious with Germany’s surrender in World War I, so when he got back to his home in Munich, he was determined to enter politics and become the greatest leader in German history (Smith). He spent all of his time and effort trying to become the chancellor of Germany. Once he was voted into being chancellor, he needed a way to become the leader of all of Germany. Hitler gathered power through many acts of t...

By promising the people a strong nation free of the economic depression, people rallied behind him in democratic elections (Document D). He used these lies to gain power, but also gave the people hope of a bright future as he used democracy and the interests of many people to gain their trust. He instilled fear on them on a physiological level, wielding so much power, Hitler gave off a certain charisma. It was described as more of a feeling rather than a thought, impacting the individual on a spiritual level. Konrad Heiden, an eye witness of Adolf Hitler’s ascension described Hitler's speeches which gave voice to “speechless terrors of the modern mass”(The Dark Charisma of Adolf HItler pg.15). He was an intimidating man that needed this “fatal attraction” he gave to the people of Germany in order to stay in power. Though he seemed like Germany’s smooth talking, intelligent messiah, he didn’t win many of the people's trust due to his hatred for Jews. This very fatal attraction led to the holocaust and the expansion that caused countries to take up arms against the delusional Chancellor of Germany, therefore causing the second world
Adolf Hitler came to power on February 28, 1933 (Rossel). He rose to power using inflammatory speeches and inspiring hope for the defeated Germans. He constructed a system to empower the German people and allow them to thrive in the period after the Great Depression (Noakes). Using keen acumen and decisive moves, he was able to turn Germany into a war machine bent on the creation of an Aryan utopian society, at the cost of all inferior races, especially the Jews ("The Period between 1933 and 1939"). At this time Germany was a defeated country. They had recently had numerous humiliating defeats in WWI, and the Germans no longer had the pride they once had celebrated (Laurita). Augmented by the fact that the Great Depression had ravaged the country and left many in a state of penury and impoverished, the Germans were desperate. As well, Germany was currently a country without any source of stability without a generally supported constitution. When Hitler promised a utopian society filled with hope and where the Germans would be exalted as the superior race, the Germans listened and obeyed his every word (Noakes). Hitler fed on the desperation and hopelessness of these German people to make a society driven by fear; this state of pity allowed Hitler to convince the Germans that he could provide a better future.

My writing as a poet has been heavily influenced by writers like Langston Hughes, Nikki Giovanni, Alice Walker and Slam poets such as Black Thought and the Last Poets. These writers write and speak about the struggles and uniqueness of Black culture. Their individual experiences and political stances as well as the influences of other artist are evident in their work. For example in Giovanni’s poem “Revolutionary Music” she quotes some of the lyrics from Sam Cooke and James Brown to illustrate her personal views on racism and the equal rights movements. Hughes in his piece titled “Message to the President” skillfully incorporates the political events of his time into his poem using it to sardonically articulate his view on racial inequalities that were occurring in his time. Black Thought and the Last Poets utilize jazz and urban hip hop along with their idea of Black to relay their message.
This is what had made Hitler one of the greatest public speakers that the world had ever seen from his time and in history. "The German people and it 's soldiers work and fight today not for themselves and their own age, but also for many generations to come. A historical task of unique dimensions has been entrusted to us by the Creator that we are now obliged to carry out." Hitler, the Fuhrer of Germany, was a very talented spokesman in ways that leaders today could not even begin to compare with. He was charismatic and bold, making it easier for him to win over the minds of many Germans with these two traits. He believed that during his rise to power, he and the people of Germany had been given a duty by God to purify the nation of its imperfect races and weaker people so as to make the mother country strong again for future generations. "Those who want to live, let them fight, and those who do not want to fight in this world of eternal struggle do not deserve to live." In many ways, Hitler felt he was justified in what he was doing, and in some
Adolf Hitler was a gifted speaker during his career as dictator over Germany. He was a charismatic leader when he first started his career . When he spoke, he had the gift of catching everyone’s attention and drawing them in with every word he said. He not only enticed his audience with the words he said, but he convinced everyone that becoming part of the Nazis was the best way to ensure victory. Hitler was the author of a book known as the Mein Kampf and he addressed that in the world he lived in there were
