It was long before the accident, or was it even an accident? My dad had died onApril 21st 2015. How he died you may ask? Well that’s it I don’t know how he died and neither do detectives, but they believe that he was murder. His name was Atnas and he always protected me from danger. Some people say that it was The Butler who murdered him, but I believe that it was not The Butler. The Butler was a strange old man and since day one, no one had trusted him maybe because of the way he looked. He never told us his name, or his background story or anything about this family. Although no one liked him I thought he was just an innocent old man who needed special attention and help. I live in a really big house with my best friend Vanessa. We actually …show more content…
I was home alone because Vanessa decided to go to the Crossfit gym for a few hours while The Butler was cleaning the kitchen. I would had gone with Vanessa but I am not as buff as she is. I prefer to go shopping instead of going to the gym. As I set along I started to think about all of the stories my family and friends would say about The Butler. I started to think what if they were all true stories and the Butler had murdered my father. I felt cold and sad until the sun had peeked out from the clouds that were covering …show more content…
As we continued to chat to get to know one another Britt asked me why did I was looking back at the window every second, but I decided not to tell her. When we ended our conversation, or I guess I ended it since she kept on talking, I went back to continue to watch some T.V.. The Butler passed by me on the steps so he could freshen up the garden. As usual his head was down. I was suspicious enough to go peek on him as you might say I guess…OK, I spied on him; With my nose all up in his business I guess he saw me because he stopped what he was doing and quickly turned to look up at the window. Lucky for me I quickly ducked my head down so he would not see me. And oh yeah. Did I tell you he has anger problems yet? Even when he was just 5 years old. How I would know? Well I do my

On May 7th 2000, fifteen year old Brenton Butler was accused of the murder of Mary Ann Stephens, who had been fatally shot in the head while walking down a breezeway of a hotel with her husband. Two and a half hours later, Butler is seen walking a mile away from where the incident occurred, and is picked up by the police because he fit the description of the individual who shot Mary Ann Stephens. However, the only characteristic of the description that Butler featured was the color of his skin. Police then brought Butler to the scene of the crime in order for Mary Ann Stephens’s husband, James Stephens, to confirm whether or not Butler was the individual who had shot his wife. Almost immediately, Stephens identifies Butler as his wife’s killer.
The Greenland Natives were killed around 1000 A.D and many assumed that Leif Erikson was the murder. However, the time that this occurred Erikson was around the age of 8. How could an 8 year old kill all those natives? The answer is that he didn’t kill them, his father did. Erik the red was Leif’s father and the culprit of the Greenland Native’s deaths. Some people may have associated Leif with his father or just thought Leif did it all. But according to Saga Of Erik The Red, c. 1000 Red did it all.
“Well-Well, it was the holidays, which I mentioned.” She gulped a shallow breath and her eyes met the floor again. “I was home alone-Well, Jordan was here, but she hadn’t paid a glance of attention to me. She was in a rush to find her clubs, cigarettes, and some trousers for when her tournament would begin. And, I suppose all the servants were here as well, they play a bit of a key to the story…” Her breath turned shallow again when she finally looked me in the eyes. “I saw a… darker servant walk by, and he held a note in his hand. He rushed by me like he was running from a bee, and I stopped him. I asked ‘what is
In the United States of America, our justice system is here to serve and protect people of the world. Unfortunately, some are able get away with crimes and others are fairly judged. This often happens because their is nothing proving a clear path of innocence or guilt. In the book Monster and the documentary Murder on a Sunday Morning, this can be demonstrated throughout. Based on the information given, the verdict of Steve Harmon seems to be incorrect while the verdict of Brenton Butler seems to be correct.
Crossing the porch where we had dined that June night three months before, I came across a small rectangle of light which I guessed was the pantry window. The blind was drawn, but I found a rift in the sill. Tom and Daisy were sitting across from one another at the kitchen table. They were engaged in a conversation.
The article “The Murder They Heard” written by Stanley Milgram and Paul Hollander is a response to the article that Martin Gansberg “38 Who Saw Murder Didn’t Call the Police”. Milgram and Hollander explain why they do not agree that the neighbors of Catherine Genovese should have called the police. Milgram and Hollander give reasons why they disagree with Gansberg, and why I should agree with what they are saying. After reading both articles, I felt very conflicted with who I agree with, but after much deliberation, I realized that I agree more with Milgram and Hollander. The neighbors should not be blamed for Genovese’s death. We should try to understand why they did not call the police. There are a few things you need to take into consideration,
Settled in 1845 Rosewood Florida was mainly used for lumber where it got its town name from a red color cut of cedar wood. Rosewood had both African American and caucasian settlers. In 1890 the pencil mill closed down because of Rosewood losing its population of trees. Most of the caucasian settlers moved to Sumner where they farmed citrus and cotton. In 1900 almost all of Rosewoods population was African Americans. And almost all of Sumner’s population was caucasian. The two towns were ok they basically just kind of stayed out of each other's way.
Butler was one of many to be accused of a crime he didn’t commit. In 1993, a woman got
Regulations have administrated human demeanor for hundreds of centuries, and in present-day, criminal laws are to standardize and occasionally preserve social order. By allocating which conducts are prohibited, they present comprehensible standards of actions, cautioning society about which actions will be or will not be held accountable for, depending on the degree of severity; it is also figurative in conveying a statement that the public objects to these particular deeds. The earliest identified account of written decrees dates back to the period of the Babylonian King Hammurabi, or what we now know today as Hammurabi’s Code, which instituted high principles of an individual’s actions and severe penalties to violators, inflicting consequences equivalent to that of their crimes. An additional early structure of written laws was the renowned Mosaic Law, like the Hammurabi’s Code, based on the rule of “an eye for an eye” (Realities and Challenges 99). The general public in the United States are directed by a great quantity of regulations from an array of foundations such as the federal, state, and local administrative institutes that concern everything from acquiring a license to drive to crime against person. Although the organization of laws in the U.S. is extensive, complex, and varied, it can, in fact, be more comprehensive when sorting American laws into two general groups: civil law and criminal law.
The Butler act affected American society by making many Americans question their fundamental mindset during the Scopes trial. Fundamentalism was a religious movement particular to Protestant (WASP) values, that became very popular in the United States in the early 20th century. Despite Fundamentalism being a religious movement, it advanced its way into schools in Tennessee; this helped form the Butler act. The Butler Act was put into motion in 1925, it was a law used to control and adjust science being taught in schools. In spite of the fact that the governor and the people of Tennessee trusted that the Butler act was ideal, especially to “protect the children” against science, they were encroaching upon the freedom of anyone who did not hold
The murders of Nicole Brown and Ronald Goldman were clearly committed by a man called OJ Simpson.Orenthal James Simpson has done a serious injustice to the families of both of these victims.Nicole Brown was the ex-wife of former football star, minor film star, and celebrity pitchman O.J Simpson. O.J was one of the first person to be caught under immediate suspicion in the murders and there is overwhelming evidence that support the fact that OJ was, in fact responsible for the crime of which he was acquitted.
For the next 3 weeks all I can think about its what went on that and what will be the next thing we do when I am let off the hook. As I start to plan the return to “ The Mansion” I start to hear weird noises coming from the woods outside of the house. As I peek out of the window of my small upstairs room, I see 4 people in black outfits slowly walking up to the garage door of my house. As I go to get my parents I realize that they had left to go to the grocery store about an hour ago. I then proceed to call my friends and tell them all to meet at my house asap so we can head back to “The Mansion” sometime tonight as we have all been curious for the last 3 weeks. As they begin to arrive, I begin to think that the people I saw walking through the woods may have been my neighbor Dave and his 3 kids heading back home from the river they were fishing at earlier that
My aunt had been an important person in my life since I was born. She helped me a lot through rough times and always was there if I needed anything. I could always remember the big family parties we had and she would give me money for a present. She was always nice to me and was a big part in my success at anything I was doing. I even used to call her 2nd mom sometimes.
