Dally you should not even think about killing yourself it will not solve anything and will only make thing worse for everybody who cares about you. I know that you will not believe this and think that the world is horrible and is not worth living in but I promise you that there is still good in the world. I know that you will say that there is not and that I am naive, but I was not the only one to see this even Johnny saw it as he was dieing. He wanted me to try to point this out to you but I knew that you would need more than just me and Johnny's persuasion so I got word from all of the gang and some idea of how to make things better.

They had chosen this specific location because Dally had recommended it to them and it was remote. Johnny and Ponyboy needed a place to hide after Johnny killed a Soc while protecting Ponyboy from drowning. Because Johnny and Ponyboy believed the fire in the church was their fault, they felt it was their responsibility to rescue these children from disaster. “All I could think was: We started it.We started it. We started it!” (Hinton 91). Ponyboy says this when he realizes that the fire may have been caused by he and

In Corsicana, Texas, Cameron Willingham and his family’s home was burned down the twenty-third of December 1991. According to the report, Cameron was asleep when the fire started and survived the accident with only a few injuries, as for his children they were not so lucky, they lost their lives to the tragic accident. At the time of the accident, Cameron’s wife was buying presents for their children for Christmas. Throughout our lives, we carry and value our own beliefs. As we face different challenges, we may be persuaded into making certain choices. However, no matter how convincing a person may be, in the end we always have the last word. Nobody likes being told what to do but we do like to hear other opinions for a different perspective. The proper way of using rhetoric is through a confident tone that is knowledgeable of their topic. The speaker should have integrity and be selfless in the sense that they are understanding towards their audience.
According to The Chicago Tribune “Close to 3,000 people have been shot in Chicago so far this year.”In 2016 chicago homicide rate was at an all time high, last year there have been reported 762 people died from gun violence,”3,550 shooting incidents, and 4,331 shooting victims.”Hundreds of people have died from gun violence every year and also a portion of the murder rate is made up of innocent people that have also died from a firearm violence. Also in the united states the number of fatalities from a firearm were “33,594” according to the Centers For Disease Control and Prevention.I believe we should ban the use of firearms because the number of people that die or get injured from a firearm keeps dangerously increasing each year.
The faded voices of choir singers are muffled by a roaring explosion. The sounds from the crumbling building spread down the block. Worn-down bricks, knocked out from underneath each another. Shards of colored glass, shot into the air. Chucks of wood and rubbish litter the sidewalk. Thick smoke and fearful screams saturate the air. A mother’s worse nightmare.
Picture the worst thing you could ever imagine. Gore, violence, murder, complete and utter horror. Now, multiply this by 100. You have nearly created the Holocaust. Some say it was the darkest period in history. If you asked me, however, I would tell you it was beyond your worst nightmare.

Not only did he stand up to relive the stress that was being put upon the church, he lied to both himself, his aunt, and to the church as a whole. Hughes also faced a tremendous amount of emotional pressures that night. Hughes sat in bed and cried, because he knew what had actually happened that night, he also cried because he was promised that he would see Jesus, and all his sins would be relieved from him. Hughes started to think that something was wrong with himself and that was why Jesus never did come. He did not understand why all the other children were able to be saved but not him. “But I was really crying because I couldn’t bear to tell her that I had lied, that I had deceived everybody in the church, and I hadn’t seen Jesus, and that now I didn’t believe there was a Jesus any more, since he didn’t come to help me” (112), Hughes writes on his predicament. He had no idea what his religious beliefs were anymore, nor did he wish to talk to about it, with anyone, because the entire community believes (including his aunt) that he reached salvation that night. Hughes was confused, he was raised to believe in Jesus Christ, that was all he ever knew and this new idea, that Jesus might not actually be real was terrifying. Hughes emotions were all over the place, he was both confused and sad, but mostly disappointed. Was he the problem? Was it his fault other children got saved from their sins
