The website, https://www.thebump.com appears to be a fun but informative prenatal website. The main goal of The Bump is to “empower new parents and parents-to-be with expert content and advice, personalized advice, checklists and more.” Parenting is something that can be overwhelming, but The Bump focuses on making parents feel as if they are not alone. I know when I decide to have a child, I will want to read about every experience and piece of advice I may need. The Bump is useful for any person needing information on pregnancy. Overall, The Bump provides users with knowledge on fertility, pregnancy, birth, baby development, advice, newest baby trends and styles, news, and interactive tools. Expecting parents can find all the information they need through this website.
Personally, I enjoy how informative The Bump is. No matter what stage someone is at during pregnancy, The Bump provides information they need. My favorite section on the website is Real Answers. Real Answers allows individuals to post their concerns and questions and get expert feedback. The reason I find this section to be so important is because during pregnancy the slightest uncertainty can become a big issue. Real Answers allows parents to ease their concerns and realize they are

not the only parents feeling apprehensive about certain subjects. I also enjoy just how interactive the site is. Users have the ability to create an account and track the growth of their baby, which is fascinating seeing how much the baby is changing weekly. One thing I do not necessarily enjoy about The Bump is the home webpage.
Although the sections are broken up by the different categories, such as parenting, trimesters, and planning a family, the subcategories seem overwhelming. There are almost too many options to look at and read. If I could redesign the home page, I would only put the main sections as options to explore and then all the subcategories would be on the different pages of the categories they fall under. I also dislike how some of the sections are divided, such as the medical care, labor and delivery, and health, safety, and symptoms. The three different categories could easily be combined which would help users be able to find the information
easier. Overall, I really like The Bump. I find the page to be very informative and even though I am not planning to have a child for I enjoy reading the different sections. The Bump allows parents to be more involved and prepared as their child is being developed. Although there are a few things I would change with the website, I still would use the website when I plan to have a child. What if someone told you the devices you were using everyday were rewiring your brain? Would you believe them? In the article Is Google Making Us Stupid? author Nicholas Carr brought up the topic of Google, and the internet, affecting the way we read and think. Carr opened up the article by relating his topic to a scene from the movie 2001: A Space Odyssey. The scene is one where a man is disconnecting a robot from its artificial “brain”. The robot says that he can feel his mind going. Carr then relates to the robot’s statement, saying that he can feel it, too. He states that the internet has been remapping his, and everyone 's, brain. Such a bold statement about something that almost everyone uses on a daily basis. For someone to state that

Having a child can be the happiest moment of a person’s life. A sweet little baby usually gives new parents tremendous joy. That joy can be accompanied with anxiety about the baby and the responsibility the new parents are faced with. The anxiety, in most cases, fades and joy is what remains. For some new mothers, however, the joy is replaced with a condition known as postpartum depression. “Postpartum depression is a serious disorder that until recently was not discussed in public…Women did not recognize their symptoms as those of depression, nor did they discuss their thoughts and fears regarding their symptoms” (Wolf, 2010). As such, postpartum depression is now recognized as a disorder harmful to both mother and infant, but, with early detection, is highly treatable with the use of psychotherapy, antidepressants, breastfeeding, and other natural remedies, including exercise.
There are a number of tough decisions expectant parents must face during the nine months before their new baby arrives. One of the most difficult choices is surely whether to breastfeed or formula feed their child. Many new mothers think breastfeeding is too demanding, time consuming, and will leave the mother unable to feed her child in public. Another problem a new mother may encounter is the worry that her supply of milk is not enough to satisfy the child. Some parents question the benefits of breastfeeding and believe that formula feeding is just as beneficial towards their child’s overall health and wellbeing. The truth is, breastfeeding may have its challenges, but there are plenty of resources available to mothers that can help on their

Advertising has been crucial to the success of numerous organizations for decades. As the years have gone by, the means of advertising have adjusted as well. At first advertising was done solely in print. Soon after, arrived advertising on the radio and then the television. While advertising is still commonly found on all of these other platforms in today’s society, the utilization of the internet for advertising purposes has grown into one of the most prominent advertising strategies.
