The Boy Who was Bullied to Death - Original Writing
Sixteen-year-old Katie Shaw woke up breaking through layers of sleep.
She had dreamed that she could hear the thumping of the heavy orange
basketball her opposite neighbour and close friend used to play with
everyday. But she was wrong her mind was playing tricks with her, six
foot three inch Jordan Baker was eight foot under the ground buried
one week two days ago. Jordan and Katie were best friends ever since
nursery school, they went to the same high school and they both got a
place at the same college. Katie looked at her alarm clock; it was
only 6'o'clock the exact time Jordan used to practice his basketball
shooting on his diamond-patterned driveway.
She opened her lacy pink and white curtains and tied them back. Katie
then stood at her windowsill and looked out across the road at
Jordan's house. Oh, how she missed his teasing, the way he pulled her
long brown hair, the way they fought and the way they he played
basketball everyday just to disturb her sleep. Jordan had died two
weeks ago but it wasn't a normal death. It was terribly mysterious.
Katie and Jordan always stayed together they were known as one
Katie-Jordan. They also had one other close friend Mark. Mark was
devastated by the news of Jordan's death. He decided to leave the city
and move elsewhere. Katie hadn't seen him since.
Katie Shaw knew the secret of Jordan's young and mysterious death. She
had told the police. It was a very hard thing for Katie to talk about,
but she went through with it.
Jordan had been bullied to his death. Jordan was being bullied since
his first year at high school by two of the biggest boys in his class
Jamie parker and Jonathan Hill. His bullying started from little
things. They made him do their homework, bullied him for money and
even snatched his new mobile last year in front of mark.
Jordan told his mum a few times but after a few days his dad left them
There were no other people besides the family that knew about what was going on, so there was no opportunity for anyone to step in and help. The family kept the secrets of what was going on and it seemed as though they suffered from Family Systems Theory where “it is the family's reaction to an event, or their ability to cope in an emotionally stable manner (Opipari, 2010, pp. 125) that determines how they function. There was no balance, there was no speaking on their emotions, so this limited any option for intervention coming from the or outside their family.
When you look in the mirror you see your imperfections. You see your perceived flaws; things that nobody else recognizes about you and you think that there has to be some way to change it. In today’s world, society places impossible standards on the way you’re supposed to look and recently young American males in their teen age years have become increasingly self-conscious about their physical appearance. In the article “The Troubled Life of Boys; The Bully in the Mirror” author Stephen Hall investigates the changes and causes of the increase in males becoming concerned with wanting to be more muscular.
In Stanley Elkin’s short story, “A Poetics for Bullies,” the main character is a bully named Push who uses the “sleight of mouth” and his courage to terrorize the school. He makes it clear that no one is free from his harassment. In the story, Elkins characterizes Push as a boy who struggles for power over others due to his feelings of loneliness and jealousy.
forced to drive around and was raped so she should have known who it was.
I walked into the 6th grade classroom and looked up at the faces of Jack Vander Stelt and Tristan Saarie. I thought for sure I was in the wrong class and the wrong grade. Jack was a full six foot three inches and Tristan one of the tallest girls I’d ever seen. I already felt like the smallest person in the world, but now I was extremely panicked and thought for sure I would never fit in there.
Imagine coming home from school, you are already upset from getting bullied and then your phone starts beeping. It repeatedly keeps alerting you and it fills up with hateful messages and threats. This is the life of a child who is bullied and harassed, this happens to them constantly until they eventually implode. Adults think of bullying as kids being kids and being a part of life; but, no child should go through the pain and torture of that. Bullying happens across the world, with no cure to it, it 's a plague that needs to stop. Children from the UK, France, and many other countries are subjected to this. In the United States, many cases have been dealt with which involves pre-teens and teens committed
Since the first day they met, everyone knew that Katie and Ted would stay together forever. He was always telling everyone how he loved her and that she was the perfect wife and mother. However, behind closed doors was another story. Ted was not a kind man in “his” house, he was verbally abusive and constantly accusing Katie of cheating on him. These fits of rage were promptly followed by flowers and apologies. Katie was abused by Ted, however, she did love him and he did promise never to hurt her again.
Bullying must stop! This is so sad and has been going on for decades there are more and more cases every year. Children are killing themselves and committing suicide nonstop and why because the school system and teachers are failing us. I've always said a degree don't mean a thing if you don't out it to good use. Why would the school system say? "All teachers, principals, and other school staff members are employed by the local school system, not the Georgia Department of Education," Hodges said in an e-mail. "Therefore, the Georgia Department of Education has no authority over the conduct of teachers and other school staff members. This is ridiculous, crazy, insane and ridiculous this article makes me sick to my stomach that this is going
Jordan also had a habit of yelling “I’m Okay!” every time she tripped or spilled something, Even when their were to be no one around. Her mom got so used to it that everytime she heard something crash she would wait for the yell. Finally when her dad came home from work she’d sit with him and laugh till she fell asleep. He would pick her up and bring her to her bed.

The article, “Bullies and Their Victims”, by Berk (2010) gives an analysis of how bullies and their victims develop, what makes them persistent and how they and their victims can be assisted. Bullying is an activity that thrives mostly in a school setting because of peers and the various cultures and diversities among them. Interactions are inevitable among children, but bullying is destructive because it aims at peer victimisation. Both boys and girls have the ability to become bullies but the majority of them are boys who use physical and verbal attacks on their victims. In the more recent generations, the means of bullying is amplified in the adolescent stage by using electronic means like cyber bullying. Students will rarely like bullies but if they do, it is because of their leadership abilities or influential personalities. Their peers may join or stand by to watch as the victims are bullied.

Your whole personality, how you view yourself, and others changes drastically. This is what it feels like to be bullied.
