On august 6th, 1945 an american B-29 bomber dropped the world's first deployed atomic bomb, it was dropped on Hiroshima, Japan. The explosion wiped out 90 percent of the city of Hiroshima, this attack immediately killed 80,000 people. Then later tens of thousands of people died of radiation poisoning. 60,000 people were killed in the Hiroshima blast and 65,000 were injured during the blast. The first bomb that hit Hiroshima was uranium core.They dropped the bombs on Japan thinking that the invasion of the island would have a much higher death toll. 3 days later the B-29 bomber dropped another bomb on Nagasaki, this bomb killed an estimated 40,000 people.
