On August 6 1945 The Japanese refused to surrender to the US so the US dropped an atomic bomb on Hiroshima in Japan. Three days later they dropped another atomic bomb on the city of Nagasaki. These atomic bombs were called little boy and fat man. Some people felt that Japan was no longer a really big threat and the atomic bombs were an overkill.
The bombings of Hiroshima and Nagasaki were not justified because they were war crimes which led to harsh decision making, and the killing of innocent people. The bombings were revenge on Japan for bombing pearl harbour and killing more than 2,300 Americans.

Citizen one believes that the bombings of Hiroshima and Nagasaki were justified because he thinks it was a way to save American lives that would have been lost if the US invaded Japan. I think that he believes this way because they didn't consider the consequences of this harsh action. I think these bombings were justified because it made sense to stop the war and end all the horrible things that were happening because of this. Their navy in Japan was nearly destroyed. I beleive they wanted revenge on pearl harbour but they already got the revenge they wanted by bombing 3 or 4 times. They didn't know what the affects would be on people and they couldn't just let the bombs sit there and rust away. I agree with this citizen because they should have tested it a little better or known how the radiation poisoning would affect the humans. Before you drop atomic bombs on two cities with thousands of innocent people you should understand the effect it has on the people and how much damage it creates not only just destruction of the cities but the side effects like scarring some people for life or people dying later on after this ended from poisoning and mental issues people would end up
