After viewing life’s greatest miracle I was shocked on how much work there is involved on creating a healthy child. Yes, I know any two people can be involved in this process, but it is all amazing on how a child is born. Anyone who has given birth knows it also consist of a lot of hard work in the delivery room as well as the years to follow. A child is a miracle given to us from God and the video shows all the stages in great detail and explains the process in steps anyone can understand. One fact I learned from the film is that our human bodies want to make babies even if we do not. Our bodies work to achieve this every day. In today’s technology the doctors as well as other people studying childbirth can take a closer look inside the body to see what is really going on and how it is happening. The new life begins when two people or two animals come together to create life. It starts with the DNA and this is what makes everyone different and not the same, this also help with the immune systems. A male makes one thousand new sperm per second, that is two trillion over a lifetime and they all are one of a kind, very unique. A woman has all her eggs from birth. The process starts out as meiosis, this is where 30,000 genes are then there are forty six chromosomes. Twenty three comes from your mother and twenty three come from your father, they only come together in meiosis in pairs, but they are not the same. Chromosomes make an exact copy of themselves then they condense making an X shape, chromosomes get a partner then embrace. The chromosomes cling close together in big chunks, the cell then divides pulling the pair apart with twenty three chromosomes. The cell alone is incomplete, but holds many promises. Every cell holds di... ... middle of paper ... ...side begins to grow and develop at six weeks the baby is only five eights of an inch in measurement. As the months go on the baby goes thru many changes as well as the mother and her body. The mother may tend to get ill at times or may be fine during her pregnancy. There are also reports that the father may become ill at times as well along with the mother, this is common in men. In closing I would like to express how informing this video was on how children are conceived. It shows the audience what to expect and the changes that will occur and in what time frame. Children are miracles and this video proves it. There are many obstacles a woman must go thru to have a child. I think everyone should view this video as well as high school students. High school students who watch this would be more cautious about their actions and sexual behaviors, in my opinion.
A woman in the film explains that, she lack of so much information that in the day after the surgery, she was cut and sew with black thread and she said “O my God” what have they cut me. In addition, she mentions that she was a total ignorant, but she feels that she wasn’t forced to do it that she went on her own free will, but if she would have been told of other childbirth methods she would have done it. Also, another woman said that the gynecologist told her that she was going to have the tied tube procedure that consisted of having her Fallopian tubes tied, but she didn’t know it was also
Meiosis, also called reduction division, is a distinct type of cell division that is essential for sexual reproduction to occur. It is one in which two successive divisions of diploid cell occur thereby producing four genetically different haploid daughter cells, also called gametes, each with half the number of chromosomes and thus, half the total amount of genetic material as compared to the amount before meiosis began. Interphase precedes meiosis and thus, paves the way for meiosis to eventuate as the cell’s DNA replicates in the S phase yielding corresponding, identical chromosomes. Interphase sparks the marvelous process of meiosis that allows variation to transpire within the organisms it occurs, hence, giving rise to millions of organisms with unique aspects unlike any other on Earth. Because meiosis is a form of sexual reproduction itself, it is the means through which gametes are produced, each with a reduced number of chromosomes, so that when two gametes fuse during fertilization, not only do they form a diploid zygote with 46 chromosomes, but also have manifested differing features due to the rearrangement (crossing-over) of chromosomes.
I was able to get a better understanding of the pattern of development, reaffirm aspects that I already knew about conception to birth, while learning new aspects, understand and explain hindrances of a successful conception, how sensitivity to food smells could protect the developing fetus, lastly address concerns in the movie that the mother and father had about childbirth. The Birds and Bees, the stork, and the “talk” all have great merit in presenting the idea of the conception to birth, but “Life’s Greatest Miracle” has given us the better understanding and education that we need to be able to further explain
Also, the film ties into the socioemotional aspect of a child’s development we’ve discussed in class. According to Epstein (2011), one of the mothers who had a VBAC claimed to have a more positive bonding experience with her son than with the cesarean child of hers. The mom got to be the first to see her child, the child wasn’t taken away for weeks in the NICU. As a result of this bonding experience, I believe the child developed a stronger, more secure bond with the mother as opposed to having to try harder to achieve that same end.
Sexual reproduction is that the union of male and feminine gametes to create a fertilised egg or zygote. The ensuing offspring inherit one-half their traits from every parent. Consequently, they 're not genetically similar to either parent or siblings, except within the case of identical twins. As theorised by Mendel, adults are diploid, meaning as 2N, having 2 alleles offered to code for one attribute. The gametes should be haploid, signified by N, containing just one allele in order that once 2 haploid gametes mix, they manufacture a traditional diploid individual. The method where haploid sex cells are created from diploid parents is known as meiosis, and it happens solely within the reproductive organs.
In a world with abortion rights issues, the Zika Virus and a declining birth rate, countries are beginning to put the pressure on their citizens to procreate for the future of their nation, but is procreation the correct solution? The birth of a child causes significant changes for the lives involved around that birth, and creates new identities for all involved: mother, father, sister, aunt, grandmother, etc., killing what they used to know about themselves and being reborn as the birth of that child dictates. The cycle of death and rebirth, both for the child and by the child, make reoccurring appearances throughout the movies ' Up, Children of Men and UltraViolet. By analyzing a wide variety of movies that deal with the Child as the ultimate
You begin life as a single cell, formed when the sperm fertilises the egg. Out of all the sperm it only takes one sperm and one egg to fertilise at conception. This is called fertilization; which takes place in the Fallopian tube, the fertilized egg then divides
The version of childbirth that we’re used to is propagated by television and movies. A woman, huge with child, is rushed to the hospital when her water breaks. She is ushered into a delivery room and her husband hovers helplessly as nurses hook her up to IVs and monitors. The woman writhes in pain and demands relief from the painful contractions. Narcotic drugs are administered through her IV to dull the pain, or an epidural is inserted into the woman’s spine so that she cannot feel anything below her waist. When the baby is ready to be born, the doctor arrives dressed in surgical garb. The husband, nurses and doctor become a cheerleading squad, urging the woman to, “Push!” Moments later, a pink, screaming newborn is lifted up for the world to see. Variations on this theme include the cesarean section, where the woman is wheeled to the operating room where her doctors remove the baby through an incision in her abdomen.
is born and as well as the father having a new son it also shows how
Inside the cells that produce sperm and eggs, chromosomes become paired. While they are pressed together, the chromosomes may break, and each may swap a portion of its genetic material for the matching portion from its mate. This form of recombination is called crossing-over. When the chromosomes glue themselves back together and separate, each has picked up new genetic material from the other. The constellation of physical characteristics it determines is now different than before crossing-over.
For example, this affects young females because is misleading them and discourage them from being unique .This shows that young teens at an early age are being exploited .For example, media is used to mislead individuals in order to become someone that they are not. Media has portrayed woman to be sexual and for men to disrespect them. A perfect woman described by men should be beautiful in the outside and have no intelligence. This video is powerful and expanded the course material because it shows real life cases in the video to show how teens are suffering. This challenged my thinking because at an early age females should only be focused finding their inner self .They should be able to decide who they want to be and how they should dress. I agree that media is affecting younger generation mindset because they are using social norms in order to tell them what it is right and wrong. Also, this video has helped me understand that is time for women to have authority by becoming successful. I believe that woman should not be downgraded but admired for their intelligence. The data that was shown in the video challenged my thinking because there are not a lot of women in
The array of feelings that occur during child birth can range from unthinkable pain, to unimaginable joy. There is no way to describe what child birth is like until one goes through it themselves. This photo depicts the moments directly after labor where the mother feels a mixture of exhaustion and adoration. A mothers bond with her child is enforced as soon as she finds out that she is pregnant, but it expands infinitely she holds her new baby for the first time. The indescribable pain and joy that a woman can feel in one life changing moment is terrifying. For everyone the birthing experience is different, but then ending result is usually the same. Complete and utter joy. This photo graph captures a beautifully private moment where a new mother clings to her newborn child. Although this is a still picture, one can see several emotions cross this woman’s face all at once. This Denver, Colorado based photographer captures this heartwarming moment where a mother feels exhaustion and joy all at once.
The female reproductive systems is made of 9 parts. The sex cell for the female reproductive system is called the egg or ovum. The egg spends it’s dormant life in the ovaries until it is released. The egg has 23 chromosomes within it. The ovaries have two goals: to create and house eggs and the release the female sex hormones, estrogen and progesterone. The fallopian tubes are what the egg travels through to reach the uterus. Fallopian tubes contain tiny hair-like structures called cilia; the cilia allows for mobility of the egg. The fallopian tube is roughly the size of 2 hairs, and is the site of where ectopic pregnancies happen. The process of the egg getting released from the ovaries through the fallopian tubes is called ovulation. Ovulation happens on the 14th day of the menstruation cycle The uterus is where the egg goes to after it travels through the fallopian tubes. The developing baby is held and nourished in the uterus. When the uterus is empty, it’s roughly the size of a fist but expands one an embryo starts to develop. The endometrium is the lining of the uterine wall. It’s used to protect the fetus. When the egg isn’t fertilized, menstruation ha...
I found the video “Inside the Womb” to be a really great documentary on the journey of conception to birth. Being a mother, and currently expecting another, I am very familiar with fetal development, but I found this video to be extremely informative and especially great for those who haven’t experienced it first hand or know much about it. What I find truly amazing is just how much crucial development the fetus will undergo during the embryonic period, which is within the first eight weeks of pregnancy. Some women may not even realize that they are pregnant until around that time. Especially if they find themselves in a situation where the pregnancy was unplanned. This shows why it is a good idea to prepare for a pregnancy ahead of time. It
The miracle of life is something most of us will experience in our lifetime. The process before actually giving birth, I think is the hardest part of the entire scenario of child bearing. This amazing experience is something that can make the individuals who are involved in the process change in so many ways. The process of giving birth, for those of you who have not experienced or will never experience it, can be very hard, long and rewarding all at the same time. To give a better description, think of eating a fireball. At first the fireball is tame and calm, but just when you least expect it the fireball becomes hot. Then, when the hot sensation becomes too much, the sweet flavor of the fireball breaks through.
