Kirkpatrick's Model is a hierarchical model for evaluating training based on learning and results. His 4 levels of evaluation are reaction, learning, behavior and results. These 4 levels can play a great role in the longevity of training department as the training process and period increases automatically when you incorporate Kirkpatrick’s model in your department thus giving rise to efficiency on the part of trainer. As these are the levels that comes after the actual training has been finished. Reaction This level basically defines that what was the learner’s reaction towards training. Field of Computer Technology: The future of computer technology is quite positive which can be seen from the current usage and developments in this field. It has become one. The world is seemingly driven today by computers. From the 'computer' on your car, to the PC at home, to the large supercomputers that help predict the weather, computers are everywhere. It is a field that is in constant need of trained professionals looking for jobs with high-tech skills and positive career advancement. ("Computers in the future may weigh no more than 1.5 tons." Popular Mechanics, 1949) There will be further miniaturization of computer and microprocessors thus making them more compact and easily accessible. It is predicted that there will be three block of computer one with the smallest processor like today’s microprocessor, second will be like small computer system or I/O channel controller and third will be central processing unit resembling today’s medium to high priced computer systems. One must keep up with the new developments and researches going on in the market regarding the field of computer technology as there are very rapid changes coming in this field. Keeping in touch with the studies and new developments is another way to stay ahead and train the students more effectively. Instructional Designer: An instructional designer basically is a problem solver. He analyzes present condition and problem, conducts a need analysis and then takes out a solution. This is the basic role of and ID. First thing that really sets him apart from other ID is ones ability to be team player that is to work along with the content or subject matter expert as he has all the crucial information. Second thing that can give an ID a benefit over others is that he should be familiar with all modes of delivery and information and new innovative technologies. Everything from pencil and paper to index cards, to Web-based instruction, to streaming video should be within the expertise of an innovative Instructional Designer.
