Texas Farm Bureau Federation
The Texas Farm Bureau Federation is the state’s largest organization, and it focuses on the wellness and improvement on the field of agriculture in the state of Texas. Farmers as well as other community members, have created this union with the main purpose of recognizing the type of labor that impacts the most the state of Texas.
This interest group was founded in1933, starting as a tiny and almost insignificant organization, according to its main web site. Yet, it expanded and got stronger during the beginning of the Great Depression, and since then it has remained successful and in operation.

Meaning that by being a member of this group, it brings so uncountable benefits such as insurance services, banking services, discount travel and hotels, as well as paint and industrial supplies between others. Some of these focus on increasing rural teens and educating the rest of the community about agriculture and its importance to the state. Programs like Agriculture in the Classroom, the Planet Agriculture exhibition and other trainings that deeply inform about the status of agriculture. They even have a program for young adults to encourage them to follow a path on the agricultural world. This organization gives away a large amount of funds that are dedicated to programs and scholarships for future college students. “Annually we award over $200,000 in scholarships in a variety of packages designed to meet different student needs,” mentioned the main treasurer of the union. And stated that this services include several youth leadership organizations where students can participate such as their Free Enterprise Speech Contest.
Issues that have been misunderstood or even ignored by the government of the state, are brought and fought back by the Texas Farm Bureau board. The president and director of this union creates every year a list leaders and staff to follow and mark as their priority. Therefore, the issues marked as the most important to agriculture and rural Texas get the deserved attention and problem-solving
