Getting pregnant at an early age makes a teen mom go through various difficulties. A lot of tragedies occur with family, friends, and even the father of the baby. 91% of teen moms did not plan to have sex or any sexual contact at all until they drank alcohol (Langham, NP). One thing for sure is that it is not easy to raise your own child when you yourself are still a child. It is very complicated for everyone, but in the end the parents of that child become stronger and have more knowledge and their stories can teach others to avoid making the same mistake.
While a teen is pregnant, they have emotional problems such as getting stress, anxiety, and anger. Teens who do not have the support of their friends and family members may feel more stress; (because they feel like they are deserted and do not have anybody to turn to when they are feeling helpless.) Although before getting pregnant, drinking could cause an accidental pregnancy. Suicide attempts or thoughts of suicide have a higher chance especially when a teen find out they are pregnant. As a teen gets opposing advice, more thoughts come into the mind of the teen; bad thoughts could cause a plan to self-abort. A teen mother goes through a lot of emotional pain when knowing the fact that they are pregnant.
By the time an adolescent knows that they are expecting a child; they then have a loss of social skills. In many complications friends turn their backs on the pregnant teen and begin to tease her. This easily occurs when the father of the baby is not around to support the mother. When the aggression begins, the teen is then feared of getting dirty looks or fingers pointed at her. Low self-esteem and desolation then affects the teen and the baby. For example, whichever emotion ...

To begin with, there are many common reasons why teenage pregnancy takes place. In fact, 60% of teenage mothers come from economically disadvantaged households and perform poorly in school. Alex McKay, research coordinator for the Sex Information and Education Council of Canada, explains, "Young women who feel optimistic about their future tend not to get pregnant. Young women who are starting to feel discouraged about their employment are more likely to get pregnant." Moreover, 79% of teen pregnancies happen to unmarried teen couples. The male is usually older than the female in the relationship, and pressures the girl into having unprotected sex. Girls born to teenage mothers also have a 22% higher chance of becoming teen moms themselves, for they often live in a poor environment, like their mothers once did. Significantly, those affected by teenage pregnancy have many similarities.

Babies, as well as the teenage mothers, face long-time problems may face long-term problems from the pregnancy. These problems may include school failure, poverty, and physical or mental illness. Babies born to teenagers are at greater risk for neglect and abuse than those of a woman. Teenage mothers may feel like they are being demanded to do the job and they may take their frustration out on the child (When 1).
Teen pregnancy is one of the many recurring themes that continue to be a problem in the African American community. This project will document the reasons why African Americans become teen parents, I will get to the root of why African Americans are teen parents. This is a problem in the African American community because we are perceived to be a race that has a variety of negative stereotypes behind it. These stereotypes sometimes stem from things that actually happen in the community such as teen pregnancy, as well as people’s perception of African Americans. Society is affected by teen pregnancy in the black community by there not being more African Americans furthering their education through college and in some cases through high school due to responsibilities that comes with raising a child, as well as the children of teen parents having behavioral issues and social disabilities. Children of teen parents are likely to have children as teens (Healthy Teen Network, 2006). According to the National Conference of State Legislatures (2014) only 40 percent of teen mothers finish high school, and fewer than 2 percent actually finish college by age 30.
For example, Collin Allen states, “Girls whose fathers left either before they were born or up to age 5 were seven to eight times more at risk of becoming pregnant as an adolescent than girls living with their fathers.” In other words, parents are supposed to be the teachers and the ones who protect the child. Therefore, if such presence is not there, the child will not have that person how tells her what to do or not, or what is correct or not increasing the probability of committing an erroneous action.
They might be worried about how they can no longer attend the college they want to go to. Having a child at such a young age is difficult. That teen may only think suicide is the only option. That teen might also try to have an abortion, but that feeling of having been pregnant, and the scaring effects of it all might harm them emotionally.

A. A lot of teenagers who become pregnant sometimes wish they weren't . This happens because they either dont want to be parents or they know it's not the right time. By the time they find out they are pregnant they start stressing out because it was never meant to happen and also because they don't want their parents to know or to find out.
Today in this society many teenagers are having sex and not realizing what could happened after they have done it. Parents and teachers aren’t teaching their children proper information about sex. Teenagers believe nothing can happen and that sex isn’t a probable cause. Unfortunately, there are many risks that come along with teen pregnancy many of those include a life surrounded by poverty, medical and health issues, less schooling along with more dropout rates, and lower career ambitions. Teen pregnancy has many causes such as no access to protection, wanting to tie down a guy, Missing love or attention from parents, peer pressure mixed with "trends”, and sadly teenagers most common, lack of knowledge.
