Taylor Alison Swift was born in Reading, Pennsylvania, 13 of December 1989. Taylor was named after the singer James Taylor. Her father Scott Kingsley Swift, is an financial advisor at the Bank of America Merrill Lynch. Her mother Andrea Gardner Finlay Swift is a homemaker who worked as a mutual fund marketing executive. Taylor has a young brother named Austin Kingsley Swift.

Taylor spent her childhood on a Christmas tree farm in Reading Pennsylvania. She attended preschool and kindergarten at the Alvernia Montessori School. Then her family moved to a rented house in Wyoming, Pennsylvania where she attended Wyoming Area Junior/Senior High School. She also traveled to Broadway for vocal and acting lessons. Later Taylor turned her attention to country music, Shania Twain´s music inspired her. Taylor spent her weekends performing at local festivals, coffeehouses, fairs, karaoke contests, garden clubs, Boy Scout meetings and sporting events.

At the age of eleven Taylor won a local talent competition and was given the opportunity to appear as the opening act for Charlie Daniels at a Strauss town amphitheater. After seeing a documentary about Faith Hill (country singer) Taylor felt sure she needed to go to Nashville to purse her music career. Once Taylor traveled with her mother to Nashville to record a demo of karaoke covers, she received rejections but she didn’t stop she thought a way to figure it out and be different.

At the age of twelve a computer repairman taught Taylor how to play three chords on a guitar and with that three chords she wrote her first song named “Lucky You”. Taylor all ready had won a national poetry contest with a poem titled “Monster in My Closet” but she decided to write songs instead of writing poetry. Taylor was given an artist deal and began making frequent trips to Nashville with her mother. To help her break into country music, her father transferred to the Nashville office of Merrill Lynch when she was 14, and the family went to a house in Hendersonville,
