What is tactical Game Models or (TMG), Tactical game model is teaching student and athletes the basic understanding of a game by slowing everything down so that the Students can stop and see what they are doing. It is not an understanding of how to watch the game but playing the game, for example teaching offensive and defensive tactics so the student will be better off. There are a number of sports you can use Tactical game model for; here are some examples football, soccer, basketball, hockey, chess and even track. When teaching Students a sport that they are new to teaching the style of Tactical Game Model is very effective.
The main purpose of Tactical game model is to focus on basic fundamentals of the game or sport which you pick to play, you will do this by letting your student play the game of your choices for ten minutes then talking about it giving them some type of understanding. You also want to focus on the development of tactical awareness and the ability to make decisions based on instinct; you will help them gain this by asking game related questions. Tactical awareness is the ability to see the outcome of a play or move before it happen and the effect. The outcome of all this training should be that you have given the player/athletes the basic skill level they will need to play the game and not only that but to be able to continuing to develop their abilities to play the game at a higher level.
After reading an article on tactical approaches on skill development it supports the benefits of TGM. A test was given to 182 students out of that amount of students, 169 of those students was not university volleyball player, after teaching them tactical skills two days a week for 16 weeks. Helping students and athletes to gain the tactical outlook/awareness on the games or sport they show interest in or want to play. The main thing you want to do most to make your life easier is trying to pick game students will be able to understand. You will do this by looking at grade levels and determining what grade, if capable of comprehending, what games and sports. When having a large group of student tactical games can be very effective.
