Although going to college is expensive and basically unnecessary, graduating from one has been proven to be more beneficial than not attending one. As Source B mentions “liberal education remains a reSource years after graduation because it helps us to address problems and potential in our lives with passion, commitment and a sense of possibility” (paragraph 4), it tells us that graduating from college doesn’t just give us a career option but important life skills. Furthermore, college teaches students how to address conflicts with passion and commitment, which helps them with their day to day life, including being hired for a job– even if it wasn't in their field of study. College is a helpful and meaningful way to positively encourage a person's future, despite this, attending a college is very expensive– sometimes unaffordable. According to Source F, 75% of Americans say college is too expensive to afford, 48% can't afford it; Adding onto this, only about 23k Americans attend/have attended college. Another 57% of Americans think college isn’t worth the struggle because higher education fails to provide students with quality education for the amount of money they and their family pay for it. Yet 86% still believe that college has been a good investment for them, 74% say that their college education was very useful in helping them grow intellectually, 69% say college helped them grow and mature as a person, and 55% say college helped them prepare for a job/career.
