Climate change is often described as the shift in climate and regional patterns. Recently the issue of climate change has become a very hotly debated issue and many feel conflicted on whether or not climate change is actually worth concern. Many scientists disagree over important aspects in research. However, due to the increase in natural disaster and the slow melting of ice caps, it’s clear to see climate change is extremely worrisome and should be cause for great concern.
Over the years, there has been a clear increase in extreme weather events, mainly hurricanes, floods, heatwaves, droughts, and earthquakes. These incidents directly correlate with the rising temperature over the years. Ever since the 1980s “[the] surface temperature records have continued to rise” (Source 2). There is a clear correlation between growing temperatures and dangerous weather episodes. Climate change not only occurs due to increasing temperatures, but “thanks to the dramatic rise in CO2, temperatures have been soaring to record levels” (Source 2). Carbon emissions have greatly increased over the past years, …show more content…

The concern is caused by the fact that “Ice is melting at rates remarkable to the human eye, which quickens the movement of glaciers and ice sheets” (Source 1). The fifth largest continent shows ice melting at an astonishing rate, causing many problems for humans, animals, and the environment. Unfortunately, melting ice and extreme weather are not the only consequences of rising weather and carbon emissions, but “most of civilization is gathered along fragile coastlines” (Source 1). The land where industries and cities are built are dependent on a safe and environmentally equal world. Many cities are clustered around the most vulnerable areas around the world. However, despite these clear worries, there are some reasons as to why some scientists are not concerned about climate
