Harley-Davidson states their mission as “We fulfill dreams through the experiences of motorcycling by providing to motorcyclists and to the general public an expanding line of motorcycles, branded products and services in selected market segments.” They have performed wonderfully over the past hundred years, and have not forgotten their mission or where they came from. Over the years they have stuck with the things they know, and also expanded into related services and products. Out of the 151 motorcycle manufacturers, Harley-Davidson and Indian were the only two companies to survive the Great Depression. Harley-Davidson was the only one in America after Indian dropped out in 1953, but face Indian again now since they re-entered the market in 1999.
The activity cost driver is a factor that affects expenses of a certain operation by driving the prices of a certain activity. Appropriate cost drivers for analyzing the cost structure would include the portion of the general facility costs for the space provided from the library for donation activities and most importantly radio frequency identification (RFID) inventory tags. There is also the computerized system for the library’s catalogue system and the salaries of workers to keep up with the growing number of books. To justify my answer think about the RFID that is placed on each book so that it can be tracked to know whether or not it has been checked out or is still available. This alone drives up the cost of each book. Relevant range also becomes important to mention because it is the specific activity level that has a minimum and maximum boundary for everything to flow properly and keep costs the same. The appropriate workload...
The president of Harley-Davidson at the time, William E. Davidson was the son of the founder. He believed the lightweight motorcycles were no threat to Harley's business. By the middle of the 1960's HD realized its mistake an tried to compete in this segment by bringing motorcycles from Italy. These were of no better quality than the motorcycles Harley was producing in its plants, and no where no wear the quality of the Hondas, the market leader at the time.
Motivation of its employees to provide exceptional services to their customers by supporting their development, providing opportunities for personal growth and fairly compensating them for their successes and achievements.

Customer service is valued as a competitive tool by many organisations. It gives you the ability to gain customer loyalty while meeting the customer’s expectations. Staff will have many skills and knowledge that will provide a competitive edge. Most organisations are known for the quality of their customer service. This means that they are known for good customer service or poor customer service. However, being known for good customer service will attract customers. It will also attract customers who are usually hard to reach.
3. We endeavor to be dedicated, disciplined and loyal, providing consistent value and great service to all the clients.
Harley-Davidson institutes a pull strategy in the promotion of the FXDS-CONV Dyna Convertible. Due to the limited number of dealerships (for example, there are only five in Nashville and the surrounding communities) customers must actively seek out a location to purchase this bike. Also, because so many customers decide to customize their Dyna Convertibles, they must place a special order with the dealer, who in turn must contact intermediaries along the distribution channel in order to satisfy the customer. Further, the fact that demand for Harley motorcycles far exceeds the supply indicates that a pull strategy is in place.
Our interactions with the customer, the promises made to the customer in these conversations, the customer's expectations generated in these conversations, and the actions we take that are consistent with those expectations combine to produce a declaration of satisfaction when we ask.
As such, there is material cost regulator, manufacturing control, labor cost regulator, excellence control and so on. Conversely, control over the price is implemented through the methods of financial control and typical costing (Meigs, 1998). The control methods aid the management in understanding the operating competence of a firm. Cost accounting also determines the selling price. The intention of all business firms is minimizing costs and maximizing profits. The costs incurred in producing goods and services may be reduced through incorporating alternate but cheaper resources of
Teams are a major source of companies in these coming years. Teams are Heroes (Collins, 2009-08-27). Everyone wants to be a hero, therefore we need to build, follow, and be effective team members and effective team leaders.
“Excellent customer service is defined as service that treats customers with a friendly attitude and tries to resolve their problem or question as efficiently as possible.” (Reference). Employees also need to realize that providing excellent customer service will provide positive word of mouth recommendations for the business that they work for in the community. A business wants their customers to say that I am coming back to this location because of the customer service that I received from this employee. “You’ll never have a product or price advantage again. They can be easily duplicated, but a strong customer service culture can’t be copied. -Jerry Fritz”.
