Waste minimization is a critical mission to the entire automotive industry, which include General Motors, due to the massive waste created by the manufacturing process. In order to maximize the waste reduction, GM tailored their waste reduction strategy so it can address issues and risks vary from country to country. Another approach that GM took to reduce waste is to collaborate with a diverse group of academic institutions, nonprofits and government agencies such as Reuse Opportunity Collaboratory Detroit and U.S. Business Council for Sustainable Development.

In the beginning, we choose the Workhorse to become our first target market, and the Traveler has been our second target market. However, we didn’t get a successful sale at the beginning since our brand does not meet the needs of Workhorse and we had a very poor rating of our advertising for our target market even though we have a cheapest price in market. After a few quarters, we try to modify our brand and we find the Traveler may has high demand of our brand since we design a new brand for them, so we change the Traveler to be the first target market and the Workhorse move to second.
The internet is now an important part of the marketing sector. Using internet resources, companies can reach a larger audience than through traditional marketing, and do it faster and cheaper. Second Life, (SL) owned by Linden Lab, was founded ten years ago, and is one of the leading 3D virtual world software platforms. It provides virtual world, virtual life exploration, and real-life simulations in cyberspace. The virtual world is a web-based simulated environment for a user to participate via a virtual representation, referred as an “avatar”, who is provided with tools to view, navigate, and modify the virtual world space and participate in its virtual activities. (Second Life, 2009). SL provides a new arena for creative advertising methods and mechanisms. This report looks at the SL “virtual” marketing plan for the Vauxhall Car Company.
The financial health of GM has been rocky over the last decade, one remarkable moment being the filing of bankruptcy and the subsequent government bailout. There have been many ups and downs for the corporation but for the last few years (Figure 4) profits again have risen to be the standard. Since the company’s recovery from bankruptcy their status has stabilized financially and in performance. Something is to be said that they have been in business for over 100 years and are still going strong earning them once again the title of top automobile manufacturer of the world.

Moreover, Chevrolet has a unique product mix, that offers an arrangement of vehicles for all different types of consumers. Also considered are opportunities and threats, which are external influences that can have a positive or negative impact on the ability to achieve our goals. I will share how the self-assessment instruments and self-exercises in this course have contributed to assessing and understanding my strengths and weaknesses. I will also discuss techniques I will use to leverage my strengths and understand my weaknesses. In addition, I will consider opportunities that I can take advantage of and the threats that can possibly impede my progress.

For much of the next 200 years, EVs remained on the limits of the automotive industry. But what has changed considerably over the past few of years. For profitable, scientific and environmental reasons, there is now a very persuasive case that EVs are on the threshold of wide approval. A few major companies including AT&T, Florida Power & Light (FPL), Duke force and GE have committed to purchasing many of EVs for their fleets, and many extra blue chip companies are beginning pilot programs. Hertz has introduced some EVs into its rental fleet, while Coca-Cola, Google, Pacific Gas & Electric, PepsiCo Frito-Lay, and UPS are all purchasing some vehicles and experimenting with new ways of doing trade.
