I chose “How to Survive a Jerk at Work” as an article that captured my attention. This article explains several ways to handle bullies in a person’s workplace. Keeping your distance, slowing down your reactions, knowing when someone is in a bad mood, and changing your perspective, are some of the examples given to illustrate how to handle these office bullies. Finally, the article does acknowledge that those who themselves are bullies, rarely recognize it.
I think this article may fit into several categories.
1. Personality Psychology which focused on patterns of thoughts and behaviors that make each individual unique, as well as various personality traits.
2. Social Psychology which focused on how we interact and relate to others.
3. Industrial
The article, Why Being a Jerk at Work Pays written by Amy Reiter, really stuck out to me for the fact a women wrote the article, she talks about the double standard women face in the workforce. She does a very good job at explaining how men in a powerful position can be a jerk and be respected, but how women in that sort of position have to find what she calls a “middle ground” in terms of how they treat there colleges and employes.

An individual 's personality is what makes a person unique. The uniqueness of a person is what makes a person interesting to observe and study. Personality has a complexity and involves many different type of ideas and theories to figure out a person 's identity. Personality is something that can be shared and help people to relate to one another. Individuals have interesting personalities, and we will learn more about a specific individual 's personality, and discuss their personality analysis from Abraham Maslow and Carl Jung. Using the information from these two theorists we will have a better understanding of their personality and behaviors.

They could be classified as extremely manipulative, others as impulsive, and some may not show anything on the outside and have wonderful social skills. These categories help in the understanding of humans. This study is called Psychology and there are many different subfields in this diverse study of the people around us. One subfield that is particularly interesting is personality psychology. Personality psychology is a branch of psychology that studies personality and its variation between individuals.
The study of personality theories of psychology is the section of psychology which studies individuals’ personalities and differences. A theory is a model that helps us predict or explain an outcome; in this case it is personality or behavior. Our personality is what makes us unique or different from other people. Many personality theorists may not feel the same about the development of personality or behavior but, they all are interested in the commonalities among people. How are people “put together,” how do they “work,” and how do they “fall apart.”
Personality is the unique characteristic patterns of thinking, feelings and behaviours of a person. Each person has different personality which distinguishes a person from another. In our life, we have to make decisions every day. The decision-making process is influenced by our logical thinking as well as our personality.
The distinctive characteristics and qualities of any one person is one way to define personality. According to Feist & Feist (2009) personality is described as a pattern of relatively permanent traits and unique characteristics that give both consistency and individuality to a person’s behavior. These traits are the precursor of behavior as per individuality, and that of behavior that is consistent throughout life. Although a person can argue the fact that traits is a disposition of genetic predisposition of certain characteristics, the pattern in which these are characterized are different. Each person’s anatomy, intelligence, and temperament are differently and each owns a unique personality, different from parents, grandparents, and any other individual on this planet. Personality theorists’ however may not concur.
