Humanistic Psychology Essay

The psychological theory is how they suspect people to have negatively been affected as children or something that causes them to go over into insanity. It is the scientific study of human behavior and mental process which attempt to uncover why we do what we do. There are many other different types of the psychological theory. Some theories have fallen out of favor, while others remain widely accepted, but all have contributed tremendously to our understanding of human thought and behavior. By learning more about these theories, you can gain a deeper and richer understanding of psychology's past, present and future.
The other types of psychological theory is behavioral, cognitive, developmental, humanist, personality, social psychology, and learning theory. Behavioral psychology, also known as behaviorism, is a theory of learning based upon the idea that all behaviors are acquired through conditioning. Cognitive theories of psychology are focused on internal states, such as motivation, problem solving, decision-making, thinking, and attention. Theories of development provide a framework for thinking about human growth, development, and learning. Humanistic psychology theories began to grow in popularity during the 1950s. While earlier theories often focused on abnormal behavior and psychological problems, humanist theories instead emphasized the basic goodness of human beings. Personality psychology looks at the patterns of thoughts, feelings, and behavior that make a person unique. Some of the best known theories in psychology are devoted to the subject of personality. When he became a college student at the University of Washington, Bundy fell in love with a wealthy, pretty young woman from Carolina. He dated her for a while and then she broke up with him. This is what devastated him deeply and what caused him to snap. This is what could have mentally affected him the most and developed him truly into the famous murder that he is well known as now. Many of his later victims resembled his college girlfriend—attractive students with long, dark hair. His killings also usually followed a gruesome pattern. He often raped his victims before beating them to death.
The exact number of women Bundy killed will never been known. There is also some debate when he started killing, but most sources say that he began his murderous rampage around 1974.
