My Opinions on versions paragraph Sleeping beauty My favorite is the movie because me and my friends used to always watch it or a version of it anyway. I liked how it was so cool to me my least favorite version was the sun moon and talia because I don't think any parent would really read this to a five six or seven year old because it was like she fall asleep then a king finds her and she gets raped but then she is pregnant. I don't think that is how a fairy tale should be in my opinion it is kinda like a horror story it's very weird. My Favorite version in Beauty & the Beast is the original disney movie. Because I remember when me and my uncle went out to buy it on a VHS tape and when we got home we watched it about three times over in a week and my parents were getting tired of hearing. Be my guest all the time. My least favorite version would have to be the story because the Jeanne-Marie Leprince de beaumont story. I think is a little weird and it's not what i'm used to watching or reading cause in all the disney stories there is a castle involved. But I don’t think attempting to through a child into a fire is a happy ending really or the girl.

It all begins with “Once upon a time” and ends with “and they lived happily ever after”. “Cinderella” is a very widely known story that many children around the world look up to and admire through their entire life. The history of this story, how scholars interpret this tale, and how the authors have retold the story are all key points to keeping this story fresh and popular. Most of the time when people hear the story of “Cinderella”, they think about the Disney version and maybe it is time that changes. All in all, the story brings light to everyone’s life even if they only know the original “Cinderella”.
A young girl is forced to live with her step-mother and step-sisters after her father and mother die. She becomes the maid of the family, tending to their every need. Eventually there is a ball; she acquires a fairy Godmother, goes to the ball, falls in love with the prince, blah blah blah. All you really need to know is that she has a happy ending. A happy ending. No matter how much suffering she went through in her early years, at the end, it all came together and she had no more worries. And this is the problem. Cinderella is not realistic. It never was and never will be. Watching this movie when I was young made me believe there was a prince waiting for me somewhere. I grew up thinking that life was simple and uncomplicated, that I did not need to worry about the future because there was a man that would provide everything I wanted and needed. But as I got older, I realized this was not the case. I saw many of my friend’s parents divorce, people die, and the world fight with each other. My fantasy died off, and I realized I had to work hard for myself, and not others. The poem Cinderella by Anne Sexton made fun of the ending of Cinderella. She states, “Cinderella and the prince / lived … happily ever after … / their darling smiles pasted on for eternity. / Regular Bobbsey Twins. / That story.” (Sexton 11). Notice who she referenced and how she has a sarcastic tone. Cinderella and the prince smiled for others, trying to convince
Cinderella is one of the most famous fairy tales among children and adults; and has been an ongoing legend for many centuries. It is a tale that has been told generation after generation and has developed slowly over the passage of time along with its characters. In fact, the story of Cinderella is so appealing that several different versions of the fairy tale have since appeared in various cultures, from the Native American version, "The Rough-Faced-Girl", to a Vietnamese version, "Tam and Cam." The different versions may be based on very distinct beliefs, but they all have one thing in common, that being that they all engage in the moral imagination that good always overcomes evil. That being said, each story still emphasizes on different aspects of spirituality, magic, miracles, and outcomes.

Fairytales, the short stories that most children heard as they went to bed, are actually folktales from previous decades. The fairytales today are primarily adaptations of older versions recreated by Disney— the pioneers of this generation. With that said, the modern versions consistently display good triumphing over evil, a prince charming that constantly came to the rescue, and a happily ever after ending. However, the original folktale version didn’t always come with fortunate events, but often were more violent and gruesome. With the fairytale Cinderella, Disney maintains a similar theme as its Grimm version; however, the conflicts, events, and characters that support this idea are rather different.
Over centuries of children have been enjoying the classic fairy tales of the Grimm Brothers and Charles Perrault. The fanciful plots and the vivid details allow children to be entranced by characters and adventures that can only be found in these stories. One of the most beloved fairy tales, which both the Perrault and the Grimms have their own separate versions of, is Cinderella. Cinderella is able to show how both versions are able to feed off the same plots while personifying the century and social economic situation in which they have lived.

Two main characters who soon fall in love with each other, are excluded for saving the drake and releasing him. Further on, the drake and his mate take human form with magic and help Yasuko and Shozo live a happy life. This story conveys a message to care for others out there, and then you will get kindness back. The theme of the story is a very sweet one for children growing up. The reading level does not require too much vocabulary to be learned. Really, the story is aimed toward young children to teach them life lessons when they’ve already mastered basic
of the Cinderella story are psychologically harmful to women.” (p648). The fact that Cinderella is a limited character may give the girl an impression that she should be happy with what she has and not have any or aspirations in her life. That is, until her Prince comes to rescue her. Since these comments were made, the Cinderella story has been modified and changed. In order to see how gender roles have changed in fairy tales from the old to the new, let’s compare the classic version of Cinderella by Charles Perrault to a recent version which is a movie that was released in 1998 called “Ever After”which was directed by Andy Tennant.
Each person in the world has heard of Cinderella, no matter what kind of version it may be. Cinderella is the one fairy tale story that has been popular and will always be the one tale that has to be told to children. Words and story lines might be twist and turn, but in the end the knowledge of the story will be learned in similar ways. As we all know when one story is told another is created, when one is at its best then another is at its worse. One version will always be better than another, but no matter what version it might be the story will be told.
The primary plot in the story concerns a Persian king and his new wife. “Little Brier-Rose” has many elements of a fairytale. The first element of a fairytale is “fairy tales happen long ago.” In fact, it’s stated in the story “in past times there were a king and a queen”. The second element, “have fantasy and make believe in them.” It is a fantasy because the characters in the story have magical abilities, such as, granting wishes. The third element is that “royalty is usually present in a fairy tale, a beautiful princess/ handsome prince.” In “Little Brier-Rose”, Little Brier Rose is a daughter of a king and queen. Little Brier Rose is the princess, and a prince awakens her with a kiss. For centuries, fairy tales have been passed down from generation to generation. Stories that told morals and lessons, princes rescuing the damsel in distress, magic, created imagination, and good versus evil. Cinderella, Sleeping Beauty, Snow White, Rapunzel, Beauty and the Beast, and the Little Mermaid all have these five characteristics in their own personal stories, but are just told differently. In Sleeping Beauty, which the earliest known version was first composed around 1330 and 1344 and first printed in 1528, a beautiful princess has a curse put on her and only a prince can break the spell. But because of how old the tale is, there are many different variations including "Little Briar Rose" by the Grimm Brothers, "The Beauty Sleeping
