Suffering Death and Resurrection of Jesus Christ
Suffering, Death, and Resurrection are three key beliefs for
Christians. They are closely linked together as Jesus suffered died
and was resurrected.
A modern day example of someone who suffered for their beliefs and for
other people is James Mawdsley. After hearing about the terrible
conditions in Burma, while backpacking in New Zealand. James decided
to investigate for himself and after being deported returned only to
find himself in solitary confinement for 99 days followed by 8 days of
torture and his release. James returned a third time and was sentenced
to 17 years for 'illegal entry and sedition'. James did not have to
any of this but he did it for his beliefs.
Mark's community went through great persecution at the time of Jesus.
The |Romans persecuted them for their beliefs however they did not
give up, this shows great courage and faith in God which sets an
example for modern day Christians who are going through times of
suffering.
Conflict and rejection are to be expected and Christians must trust
Gods plans, which are that anyone who asks in the name of Jesus will
be saved. Christians relationship with God depends on the death of
Jesus as everyday we make sacrifices for him and God made the ultimate
sacrifice of his only son, this makes Christians feel closer to God.
For this Christians must respond with prayer and sacrifices of their
own, and in baptism they are promised to receive their benefits.
Resurrection is the most important belief for Christians today. An
example of a modern day Christian who has lived out resurrection is

will keep it." Some Christians would argue back and say that for
Christianity Jesus brings atonement and that sacrifice is not needed.
That death is overcome in the resurrection of Jesus, whereas in
Judaism sacrifice is important part of their beliefs.
In conclusion I think that it is wrong to die for your beliefs in any
way, shape or form, although admittedly it did work in the case of
Martin Luther King a lot more can be done for God on earth. I think
that if some one dies for their belief it is taking the easy way out
and not facing the challenge as Jesus did that for us when he died on
the cross for us. No good can come from dying only grief and agony for
loved one which is not the Christian thing to do. A person can do far
more with their actions on earth than they can do when they are dead.

In the world, there exist people who have beliefs strong enough that they are willing do die for them. Their convictions may be for their country, their family, or their religion. Some people chose to die for their beliefs while others are just objects of fate and die because of their beliefs while in the hands of others. For example, American soldiers don't often chose to die. They die because they are standing up for what they believe in and are killed because they are protecting what they believe in. They know they can potentially die but don't take their own lives. On the other hand, suicide bombers offer themselves fully as they kill themselves for their beliefs. People have been standing up and fighting for their beliefs for centuries in order to defend and protect their valued views. If they die protecting their sentiments, then they have died noble deaths. In Greek Literature, two women face their fates of dying by defending what they believe in. Ipheigeneia loves her father and in order to win the Trojan War, she must be sacrificed. She resists her fate at first but as expected she allows her father to do the necessary. Ipheigeneia is sacrificed. Additionally, Antigone faces her fate defending her brother Polyneices. He was murdered by his own brother; however, he was considered a traitor since he returned from exile and therefore was not allowed be buried properly. Antigone felt as his sister she must give him the proper burial. Kreon -the king of Thebes- was furious and sentenced her to death Later, he changes his decision but it is too late as she has taken her own life. These young, brave women are obviously similar while maintaining differences in their deaths.
Believing that there are things worth risking your life for is a quality that is well respected.
There are many different perceptions in this world, one might think that someone dying in war is awful, and another might think that it is beautiful because someone is dying for a cause. For that man or woman to die he has to be thinking about the communal good and what will happen to himself for doing that. Because if he does not die that others may die, in a world like this everything has a cost. This also happens in Odysseus’ world we have a cost for something but they have a bigger cost because they have to lose an army by a god for someone else to be able to get back to their home.

Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. When most Americans hear that name the first thing that comes to mind is his “Dream”. But that is not all he was. His life was more than a fight against segregation, it was segregation. He lived it and overcame it to not only better himself but to prove it could be done and to better his fellow man.
...ompared to Martin Luther King Jr. for being a great leader. From his amazing persuasion, he changed people’s thoughts and opened their minds. His legacy remains still today, influencing many young and old hearts in all orientations.
To conclude my argument, I disagree with Reverend Hale. I belief it is better to die for your beliefs and principles than to give a false confession and sit in silence. It has been shown throughout history with many historic figures such as: Martin Luther king Jr and Rosa Parks starting the movement for equal rights, the men and woman in uniform protecting our country day in and day out, and our Founding Fathers, without them there would be no America to live

The Resurrection of Jesus Christ. No other event in history has been the object of as much scrutiny and criticism as the resurrection of Jesus Christ. The resurrection of Christ is the basis upon which all Christianity stands. If the resurrection never happened, then there would be no Christianity, as the Apostle Paul says in 1 Corinthians 15:14, "And if Christ has not been raised, our preaching is useless and so is your faith." This is why opponents of the Christian faith have tried to attempt to discredit the Biblical account of the resurrection. Of the many theories of the resurrection, the Biblical account is the only historically reliable and possible explanation of the resurrection.
"For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life." This verse - John 3:16 - is perhaps the most important in the Bible. Jesus Christ was the son of God, but he was also the son of man.
...he same time, it is ending the person's life that is the most valuable thing a person may ever hope to own. The decision to end one's life at the time of suffering should then be let laid into the hands of the sufferer and let it be upon his/her own conscience to decide whether he/she wants to end their lives. And yet it is a life that they are ending, life that is only given once and can never be replaced by anything else.
