Family can be very stressful at times but you still have to give your family a chance and be there for them. “A Streetcar Named Desire” is not only a story about a woman named Blanche losing her home, it has many wow moments and many themes to the book. Some themes in the book are the meat, the paper lantern, and also Belle Rev. The book mostly focuses on a certain amount of people. The most important characters are Blanche, Stanley, Mitch, and Stella. In the book Tennessee Williams portrays memories secrets and relationships. Memories are a big part in the book “A Streetcar Named Desire.” Many of the characters have a very interesting past. A theme in the book is Belle Reve. Belle Reve shows the memories of Blanche and Stella back when they One odd relationship is Mitch and his mother. Mitch takes care of his sick mother and he is kind of a momma’s boy. All the guys make fun of him because of him being the way he is about his mom. Stanley and Blanche have the strangest relationship. Even though they had a different ending, Blanche and Stanley had a rocky relationship from the beginning. They hated each other throughout most the book and had a lot of name calling back and forth such as Blanche always calling him a Pollack. In one scene where Stanley says this “I am sick and tired of being called derogatory names such as greasy”. Blanche may hate Stanley, but on the other hand her sister Stella is madly in love with him. Most of the time Stella has Stanley’s back no matter what he says or does, she even says to Blanche ”He Hanks 3 didn’t know what he was doing...he was as good as a lamb when I came back and he was really really ashamed of himself”. Even when Stanley is drunk and breaks the radio she still forgives him. In “A Streetcar Named Desire” Tennessee Williams portrays memories, secrets, and relationships. In the book it showed memories of two girls living on a plantation. Also a lot of secrets too, as in Blanche hiding her face trying to keep her age in secret. Finally, it showed the many relationships such as Stella and Stanley. Family is stressful and people need to give their family a chance if they don’t agree with
