My research into definitions brought me to the following thoughts. Strategic thinking is a process that defines the manner in which people think about, assess, view, and create the future for themselves and others. One can apply strategic thinking to arrive at decisions that can be related to your work or personal life. Strategic thinking involves developing skills in creativity, problem solving, teamwork, critical thinking and flexibility. Strategic thinkers are able to see the big picture, as well as how to attain it. I do not believe that you inherently know how to think strategically. Strategic thinking is an acquired skill and there are several strategic actions involved in learning how to think strategically.
