Do you remember a tIme you got stereotyped by someone? shankar vedantam wrote an artIcle about stereotypes culled “How a Self-Fulfilling Stereotype Can Drag Down Performance” in this he talks about how people will always stereotypes other even if they don’t know them like if you say all Asians are bad drivers or if all white boys are school shooters that a stereotype you're saying that “All”. Another stereotype Is assuming something that you don't know it's true like if you have a bad kid in a class and you have his brother for another you’re going to assume he’s a bad kid too just because his brother a trouble maker that's another way of stereotyping someone. i believe stereotyping is bad looking back on it, I remember a time when I was stereotype i was a target just walking around with my friends, they are a lot lighter than me and some random employe just walks over to me avoiding my friends and just tells me that he saw me steal something and I showed him my pockets and he saw that I didn’t have anything so he just walked away. But looking back on that time in my life he was stereotyping me just because I'm a darker color means that I would most likely to steal something. He didn't say sorry for saying that he just walked away quietly so that made me mad because he didn't apologize for that. He was just stereotyping me because I was a darker color than them so he just keep his eye on me and didn't care what they were doing, they could have put a bunch of stuff in their pockets and probably gotten away with it because this white employee was just looking at
