I want to begin this speech with a confession. I was going to just submit an assignment I wrote last year and call it done. However, I came across this story and knew I had so much more in me. One morning a little boy was walking along the beach, and he came to a part of the beach where thousands of starfish were washed up during a terrible storm the night before. Now he knew that the starfish would die if they were out of the water for too long. So when he passed by a starfish, he picked it up and threw it into the ocean. And people watched him with amusement. He’d been doing this for some time, and a man approached the little boy and said, “Young man, why are you doing this look at this beach? You can’t even begin to save all this starfish, and to be honest, you won’t even make a difference. …show more content…

And he looked back up at the man and replied, “Well, I made a difference in that one.” He was inspired and decided to join him and start throwing starfish back into the ocean. Many people joined in, and almost all the starfish were saved. So remember, when you hear a story like this, you're never too small to make a difference. 1 Timothy 4:12 says: Don't let anyone look down on you because you are young, but set an example for the believers in speech, in conduct, in love, in faith, and purity. Don’t worry if the difference is a big difference or a small difference. The only difference you should be focused on is making a difference in the world.
