The more than 700 letters that van Gogh wrote to his brother Théo (published 1911, translated 1958) constitute a remarkably revealing record of the life of an artist and a thorough documentation of his unusually rich output—about 750 paintings and 1600 drawings. The French painter Chaïm Soutine, and the German painters Oskar Kokoschka, Ernst Ludwig Kirchner, and Emil Nolde, owe more to van Gogh than to any other single source. In 1973, the Rijksmuseum Vincent van Gogh, containing over 1000 paintings, sketches, and letters, was opened in Amsterdam.
Vincent Van Gogh is celebrated today as the greatest Dutch painter, besides Rembrandt (“Vincent Willem”). Born in Holland on March 30, 1853, Van Gogh had five other siblings and two parents, and although his mother was an artist, he never bothered with art until much later in his life (“Vincent Willem”). Van Gogh had many shortcomings in his little and dismal time on earth and it was not until his late twenties, after all else had failed, that he gave art a chance. Thanks to the help of his older brother Theo, Van Gogh was able to put all of his emotions and mental worries into productive use, creating masterpieces that are sold today for millions of dollars (“Vincent Willem”). Although he is hugely successful today, Van Gogh had little to no fame in his lifetime and he struggled immensely with his mental state of mind for many years. Ultimately his mental illness (some believe there were more than one) lead to his untimely death, but his turbulent state of mind also helped him to create magnificent images that are revered as some of the greatest pieces of art of today.
Vincent was the first born child out of six, and the son of a Methodist preacher in Holland. Vincent was named after their other first child who was didn’t survive birth. As a child, Vincent spent little attention to the art that he would forever be known for and was instead quiet and kept to himself. Vincent’s best friend and favorite family member was his younger brother, Theo, whom supported him heavily through life. Vincent had many occupations in his early life before becoming an artist, which included being a bookstore clerk, an art salesman, and a

Some may think of an NFL team (Tennessee Titans), an NBA team (Sacramento Kings), or a NASA astronaut team with such pioneers as Edwin Aldrin, Jr. and Neil Armstrong as members. You might even think of the U.S. Navy, Air Force, Army, Coast Guard, or Marines as teams. In fact they all are, and they have a great deal in common as teams. However, for the purposes of this paper I will examine the characteristics of work teams, as they apply to organizations and I will supply answers to the following questions: What is a team? Where did the team concept come from? What are the types of teams? What are the advantages and disadvantages of having teams in organizations? What does it take to make a team effective?
Indeed, some research found that the team diversity has a positive impact on decision making. For example, one of the research found that the diversity at educational level can positively influence the decision making and also affect team performance (Simons). In addition, Dooley and Frywell illustrated that the discussion and argument was associated with quality decision making in U.S. hospitals. However, some research also demonstrated that the diversity in the team can have a negative influence on decision making. For example, Sounder found that, in diverse teams, because of the lots of differences between team members, sometimes its difficult to reach an agreement.
