Islam is known as one of the fastest growing religions, in between the years of 622-750 B.C.E, they were able to expand from Arabia, to Persia, Egypt, Africa, and Spain. Muslims have established many methods to spread such an extraordinary religion. Although most people questioned Muhammad and his discovery of Islam, Muhammad, the Rashidun Caliphate, and the Umayyad Caliphate were still able to expand their empire from when the Muslims conquered land and when the Muslims put taxes and restrictions on resources that were vital to the non-Muslims. Due to the Muslims actions, over time they were able to expand the Islamic Empire.

An example would be when Abd-al-’Aziz claimed, “He and [each of] his men shall [also] pay one dinar every year, together with four measures of wheat, four measures of barley, four liquid measures of concentrated fruit juice, four liquid measures of vinegar, four of honey, and four of olive oil.” Due to this, people started to convert to Islam to excuse themselves from the tax, a majority of people couldn’t afford such a high wage. Since, people started to convert they would also realize benefits of Islam such as safe passage to heaven if worthy; thus causing people to spread the teachings of Islam causing the empire to expand. Similarly, when the Umayyads (Arabs) made the inquiries for “Non-Muslims: they could not ride horses or camels, only mules and donkey; they had to wear special clothing that identified them as Jews or Christians; and they were forbidden to build new synagogues or churches without permission.” Not only did the restrictions put against non-Muslims incline them to convert to gain access to the restricted resources, but for them to spread the teachings of Muhammad and the Angel Gabriel. Moreover, the reason why the Islamic Expansion was so successful was because of the tax placed on resources that the non-Muslims had to pay and the limitation to building houses of worship all caused people to convert to Islam which caused the Islamic Empire to
