Islam is a religion which is clearly defined, even from the name itself. The word Islam means "submission" or "surrender", and the name of followers of this faith, Muslims, can be translated to "one who submits". Put simply, these translations are essentially what Islam believes in, submission to one God (Allah). Spreading like a wildfire across the world, Islam is followed by over 1.2 billion people, and this figure is growing as more and more individuals choose to listen to the word of Allah. This phenomenal figure of members places Islam as the second-largest religion closely following Christianity.
Islam centers primarily on the teachings of Allah in several forms. The religion's sacred text, the Qur'an (translated as "reading or "recitation"), records all these lessons and examples of how to be a

Islam revolves around this holy book just as Christianity does with Jesus Christ. The Qur'an forms a base for Islam and provides a path supposedly straight from Allah on how to live to your fullest potential as a Muslim. The Prophet Muhammad is the individual who it is said received the teachings in the Qur'an directly from Allah. Muslims are suggested to follow the way Muhammad lived his life in order to be considered "perfect". Muhammad is thought of as a "jewel among stones", although as Islam is a monotheistic religion, he is regarded as purely human, not supernatural or godly in any way. The man had a wife and children and was working as a shepherd when the angel Gabriel appeared in a dream and commanded him to recite verses. Muhammad told a friend about his experience, and she converted to Islam, signaling the start of Muhammad's Prophet career. The Umma, or Muslim community
Islam is a very large and influential religion, it all originated from one man named Muhammad spreading his beliefs to the people of Mecca, and now it has become the second largest religion in the world. How did this come to be? How did a religion that started with one man spread so quickly? methods , purposeful or not, were used. There are a few methods that appeared to be most effective, and those methods can be classified under two categories. Islam expanded from forceful ways such as government laws and military conquest, and from peaceful ways like the religion being a reasonable jump for other religions and Islam being an easily acceptable religion.
The Muslim Empire began to expand vastly under the Umayyads, with the empire becoming so large many people were converting to Islam religion. The Umayyads were the second of the four major caliphates after the death of Muhammad. The Empire used many different ways to spread the Islamic civilization consisting of war, classes, and appeal. The Islamic civilization spread so strongly because of the way it allured the common man.
Although there are many religious in history, Islam is one of the quickest spreading in the Middle East. According to Document A, cultural diffusion helped advance the religion of Islam. For example, the city of Mecca was the center of trade, which meant there were many trade routes connected to Mecca. Some trade routes travelled farther away, like to India or China and Islam's culture and religion grew from all the trading. Document B explains that Islam spread so quickly because the laws from their God appealed to many. In other words, the laws of the Muslim community were fair, wanted people to be kind not evil, told followers their property would not be stolen or destroyed and also promised them afterlife in paradise. People that were not
Mohammad, the chosen messenger of God, spread Islam throughout the Arabian Peninsula. At first, he received little support for the emerging monotheistic religion in Mecca, his hometown. Mohammad then set out on a journey to Medina, which later became known as the Hijra. While in Medina, his ideas were welcomed and supporters began to follow him. The magnitude of followers eventually prompted the religion to develop into one of the five major world religions.
Islam was an amazing place to be during the 7th and 8th centuries, in that short amount of time Islam grew extensively. They held many tactics that caused that growth. A lot of civilizations wonder how they were able to do so. Bribery, treaties, and warfare all played key roles in the growth of islam.
The town of Mecca was the birthplace of Islam, at first the leaders of the city refused the changing of this new religion and forced Muhammad to leave. Muhammad returned and preached to the people about what he had heard, that there is only one god. Islam spread quickly for two main reasons they are the message and military conquest.
Islam and the worship of Allah (god) began with Muhammad and his revelations that lasted for 23 years of his life from (610 C.E.- 623 C.E.). In the Islamic religion it is believed that he was the last prophet sent by Allah (god) and this made all his teachings into to Law and are looked at as the will of God. These messages were given to him through the archangel Gabriel, in a kind of continuation to the Jewish Torah and Christian Bible, which the Qur’an shares some similarities or past “history” with them such as the belief in Abraham and Jesus as a prophet, but in the eye’s of Mohammad the Jews and Christians had fallen astray from the real teaching of god.
Islam is a religion that is based on the submission oneself to the will of God, who is called Allah. Muslims are the people believe in that, regardless of their culture, background or ethnicity. It is believed that God’s prophets brought a message for the people to worship one God without intermediaries and that prophet Muhammad was the end of G...
The Qur’an is believe to the ultimate source of God by many Muslim believers. It contains 114 suras for the believers as the core practices of the Islamic religion and Muslims throughout the world recites its verses (Chang, Lecture. 1/21/14). They believed the prophet of Allah was Muhammad, who received the words of Allah through Angel Gabriel, and was passed on with the Qur’an during Ramadan. Angel Gabriel one night came to Muhammad “in clear human form” (“Scripture and Tradition in Islam- The Qur’an and Hadith” 104), and gave the messages from Allah to him. From the establishment of the Qur’an, Muslims have viewed the book as the last revelation of their god Allah, and thus are the true words from God for their ways of life and in reaching Allah in their afterlife. The book also teaches “mankind’s responsibility assigned by God” (Gordon 115). Therefore, Muslims practices in ways to prove their devotion towards the new religion of Islam by being faithful, and performing religious practices.
Islam is a major world religion. Its origin can be traced back to 610 CE in Arabia. The basis of this religion is the revelations to the prophet Mohammad. Dissatisfied with his life, he traveled to deserts, hills, and the wilderness surrounding Mecca, where he lived, to meditate and reflect. He became a new man through his revelations, which many of his followers believe Allah transmitted to him through his angel Gabriel. Islam was originally an Arab religion, but many different beliefs and practices were added to it, making it extremely popular and aiding in its rapid spread. This new religion spread to many different areas surrounding Arabia, both under Mohammad and after his death. The Muslim Empire grew to encompass Spain and the Eastern Roman Empire as well Persia and Africa. Many different practices and methods were used to spread Islam. The religion itself was appealing to, in addition to the inhabitants of Arabia, other people in the surrounding areas because of its distinct religious beliefs and practices, such as the five pillars, as well as the humility and prayerfulness of the Islamic people. They fought cruel, vicious wars with their enemies. Many different things motivated the warriors to expand, but above all, the riches they would gain from the people of the Fertile Crescent encouraged them to expand.
The Islamic religion began around the 7th century. The religion expanded from the Arabian Peninsula to other areas in Spain and Asia. This was able to happen with the help of traders, traveling mystics, and soldiers. The Islamic empires supported significant bonds and routes for trade between other civilizations. The Islamic culture also presented the basis of which all the world empires follow.
Islam is the religion, which was preached by Prophet Muhammad. It is divided into 2 parts: Sunni and Shia. Sunni follows Qur’an and Sunnah, Shia follows only Qur’an. So Qur’an is The Holy Book of Islam. Muslims believe that in Qur’an there are admonitions to live properly and fairly.

Islam is one of the world's greatest monotheistic religions. The followers of Islam are known as Muslims, and they believe in God, Allah. The word "Islam" is an Arabic word that means "submitting and surrendering your will to Almighty God.” The word comes from the same root as the Arabic word "salam” which means peace. Islam is the religion of about one and half billion people in the world. It is the second largest in the number of followers after Christianity. I chose this religion as a topic of my research paper because at high school in my world history class I read few things about this religion like God is one, men can have four wives, etc and those sound interesting to me, so I want to learn more about this religion.
