The Islamic religion began around the 7th century. The religion expanded from the Arabian Peninsula to other areas in Spain and Asia. This was able to happen with the help of traders, traveling mystics, and soldiers. The Islamic empires supported significant bonds and routes for trade between other civilizations. The Islamic culture also presented the basis of which all the world empires follow. However, this culture wasn’t always unified. Conflicts in politics, different languages and religions divided the Arabian Peninsulas. All the empires were fighting for territory as well. Muhammad was born in 570 B.C.E. When his parents died, he was taken under the care of his uncle. It was because of his uncle that Muhammad became exposed to religions Christianity and Judaism. Muhammad had his first revelation in 610 B.C.E. His followers believed that it was sent by the angel Gabriel. Later in his life, Muhammad became increasingly popular, as this was occurring the Umayyad tribe felt threatened by him. In order to prevent his own death, Muhammad left to Mecca. Many Arabians liked the religion of Islam for many reasons. The main one being it was a religion available to everyone and not just certain groups or clans. Another reason was that it concentrated on the one god Allah. Islam was also a moral system. Equality was established among the rich and the poor. The people were also expected to pay a tax that was used for the needy. After the death of Muhammad in 632 B.C.E., the political order was a mess. Finally after a while a successor was chosen.
