In the sequel to Spiderman: Into the Spiderverse, Spiderman: Across the Spider Verse, Peter B. Parker says that “bad things are gonna happen; it makes us who we are.” At this moment, Peter is trying to give Miles a piece of wisdom that the bad things that happen to people do not always mean good things will not happen afterwards. In a sense that a tragedy shapes the way any Spider-Man success starts, people in real life could also relate to this analogy. The movie Spiderman: Into the Spider-verse, shows the audience that people need to face adversity to succeed. Adversities can be seen throughout the “Spider-verse” movies that can either make or break a character. For example, Mile’s uncle, Aaron, gets shot by the antagonist, Kingpin. Miles lost his uncle, which only motivated him to defeat Kingpin as revenge for Aaron’s death, and to save his city. Mile’s ends up having a closer relationship to his father and uses the tragedy that was his uncle’s death as motivation to succeed in the future. A second example of a character's success after adversity is Peter B. Parker. Peter got divorced from his wife, M.J, after an argument about having children or not. Miles helped Peter realize that he does want kids and tries to win M.J back again and succeeds. This shows after Peter B Parker lost what he had, which would be his relationship with his wife, he realizes with the help of Miles, Peter wants to take the responsibility of being a parent. In the second movie, it is shown that he reunited with MJ and had a daughter (Spiderman: Across the Spider Verse). This theme of facing adversities that help us in the long run also occurs in real life. In real life, Oprah Gail Winfrey faced immense adversities in her early life before she became the beloved talk show host and TV producer she is …show more content…

Rapunzel grows up with her captor, who says that she is Rapunzel’s mother, having no clue that she is a princess and spends 18 years locked up in a tower. (Tangled) In the end she is reunited with her parents at the cost of her magic hair that had to be cut in order to escape her captor

The fact that she did not and turned her adversities into achievements in a relatively short amount of time truly shows the amount of resiliency that Oprah has possessed in her lifetime. This is certainly an admirable quality of hers that has served as a source of inspiration for myself and
