Oprah Winfrey has changed the lives of so many people. She used her position as the most influential women in media to inspire, educate, and empower people of all walks of life all over the world. “Everyone of us gets through the tough times because somebody is there standing in the gap to close it for us.” (Winfrey) She did many amazing things throughout her entertainment and media career, including changing the lives of people forever. Oprah Winfrey is a charitable person while still being a major influence in the entertainment industry. Oprah Winfrey was born in Kosciusko, Mississippi on January 29, 1954. Her parents were unmarried and separated after she was conceived. Growing up, she was very poor, and often had to wear potato sacks to school. Her mother’s lack of supervision led to her being sexually abused by friends or boyfriends of her mothers.
