Mr. Bell explained the reason for the Special Meeting tonight which was to vote on signing a resolution to adopt the Solar Ordinance. Mr. Bell stated that he had not had time to read the latest proposed Solar Ordinance and was confused. Mr. Frederick explained that the Planning Board changes which were made to the ordinance at the last Planning Board meeting (9/22/16) were sent to the commissioners work session. Mr. Frederick said the commissioners made their changes and that is what is in front of you tonight. Mr. Bell stated that none of the changes the Planning Board worked on have been incorporated into this ordinance. Mr. Bell asked if any of the grammatical errors the Planning Board asked to be corrected had been changed. Mr. Frederick …show more content…
Hicks said that there are several references about technical changes and he thinks the Board of Commissioners absolutely wants to consider those changes, but at this point we are under a really short timeline. Mr. Hicks said there are solar farms that are ready to apply for permits and the longer this last the longer people can come in without a Solar Ordinance in place. Mr. Hicks said he thought it is the expectation to get the Solar Ordinance on the books as soon as possible. Mr. Hicks explained to the board that they can always come back and make recommendations for the technical changes to the commissioners. Mr. Hicks stated that the Board of Commissioners voted unanimously on their version and it is before the board as their requirement to vote consistent or inconsistent with the County’s Land Use …show more content…
Bell explained to Mr. Hicks that he had not had time to read the Solar Ordinance before him tonight. Mr. Bell said he did read the last Solar Ordinance that came from the commissioners. Mr. Bell told Mr. Hicks that in the last meeting he was highly critical of Mr. Hicks and his office for presenting that ordinance at the last meeting. Mr. Bell said that the grammar was bad with incomplete paragraphs and sentences. Mr. Bell said that if those items are not complete the commissioners can put the Solar Ordinance into effect if they want to do so, but it had glaring holes in it. Mr. Bell said that the planning board spent two or more hours going through the ordinance making notes mostly of the grammatical and misleading verbiage. Mr. Bell said if those errors have not been changed you can put the Solar Ordinance in place but any third grader can walk through the loop holes that are in it. Mr. Bell said he has not had time to read the Solar Ordinance tonight to tell whether it is consistent or inconsistent with the County’s Land Use Plan. Mr. Bell said that we would not have been here tonight if we would have been told at the last planning board meeting that all we were to do was to vote consistent or
Since the Council meeting on March 31, the issue has become both more contentious and complicated. The Council voted on September 1 to rescind their approval of the new zoning. However, the developer submitted their proposed plans for the site a day prior, which under a new state law, allows for the retail zoning to stand. The “time of application” l...

Miss Minnie’s would like to sue the meteorologist who reported sunny skies with only a 20 percent chance of rain. She relies on the meteorologist to give her an accurate forecast. She carefully notes the weather reports and dresses accordingly. It was the inaccurate reading of the meteorologist who caused Miss Minnie to ruin her new outfit and her to pneumonia. Miss Minnie arrived ten minutes early for the bus to arrive and in that ten minutes, she got drenched by a rain cloud. Now if the meteorologist would have been more accurate with his weather forecast Miss Minnie wouldn’t need to sue him for negligence. She would have brought and umbrella and been able to celebrate with her friends at the early bird dinner.
This case discusses a 95,000 square foot WinCo grocery store in the city of Tracy, CA. The EIR for the project examined two plots of land, the southern portion where WinCo wanted to build their store, as well as the Northern portion where no building plans were created, resulting in a vacant lot. After considering the amended EIR, the council for the city of Tracy certified it and approved the project without sending the EIR back to the planning commission for further consideration. The petitioner, Tracy First which is composed of business owners and merchants mainly from downtown Tracy filed a petition for writ of mandate in the trial court against the City challenging the certification of the EIR and their approval of the project. The court rejected this thought as well. The trial court denied the petition, and Tracy First appealed.
The Goal is a story about overcoming manufacturing problems that is told through the eyes of a plant manager, Alex Rojo. Alex arrives to work one morning only to discover the division vice-president, Bill Peach, showed up unannounced to see the status of a specific customer order number, discovered the order was incomplete, barked orders at employees to assemble the products, and finally informed Mr. Rojo he has only three months to improve his plant's performance before it's closed because the plant cannot get orders out the door on time. In fact, the order Bill investigated was already seven weeks late and the product not even assembled. After Bill departs, Alex heads to the floor to discover Bill's unexpected arrival has created more problems. The master machinest Bill yelled at before Mr. Rojo arrived quit but only after setting up a machine to complete the seven-week-late order that Bill demanded be shipped out today. The machinest, however, forgot to tighten two adjustment nuts on the machine so several parts must be scrapped, but even worse is that the machine, which just so happens to be the only one of its kind in the plant, is broken.
In questioning one of the colonia residents, it became apparent that property ownership and systematic records had become a problem. She indicated that she had previously been making payments on the property but had ceased to do so. She went on to say that the person she was paying had not been the rightful owner of the property and that she was told to stop paying. When asked who had told her to stop paying she indicated that it was an attorney who was going around trying to help the people of the colonias.
On January 30th of the year 2018 the Shasta County Board of Supervisors conducted a meeting to cover a broad range of topics concerning the county and its citizens. The meeting began with the discussion of agritourism in the county. Richard Simons, the Resource Management Director, gave a presentation that highlighted his goals and suggestions to improve viability and the functionality of agritourism in the county. The board members were very engaged with his presentation and asked many thoughtful and provoking questions. They were especially concerned with how the citizens and land owners involved in agritourism would be affected by these new propositions. After the supervisors were satisfied and their questions were answered they unanimously supported the decision and the next topic was addressed.
The Meeting is a play written by Jeff Stetson that portrays the theoretical meeting of Malcom X and Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. The play’s opening scene shows both men on opposite sides of the stage with spotlights on them. They take turns speaking to make it seem as if these interactions are happening at separate locations and at different points in time. We can assume they’re being interviewed because we hear a voice offstage asking the men questions. However, in these interviews, neither man is known by the public for accomplishing anything, almost as if the revolution they created had never happened. Directly following, Malcom wakes up from his nightmare, which is what the audience just witnessed. Based on
The Alcoholic Anonymous (AA) meeting I went to was on Friday June 5, 2015, 8pm, Gilbert location, Gilbert Group. There were 3 members attended excluding me and appears middle aged, one female and 2 males.
The Dahlonega City Hall was crowded on the evening of March 1st 2010. The seats were full, except for at the very front, and the standing room was filled almost out the door. The crowd, mostly made up of students, leaned in to hear as the voices of the City Council members faded in and out of the faltering sound system. The six City Council members and the mayor sat along a bench as if they were the judges at a hearing. Because of the ongoing discussions and the crowd, I thought I had arrived a few minutes late; but I was able to find a seat in the front two rows. Despite how packed the small room was there were plenty of empty seats in the front. I had thought the meeting was well on its way by the way conversation was going and apparently I was not the only one who shared this feeling. After a solid forty-five minutes of talking about parking laws and if there was a parking problem in the city, the mayor stood up and thanked everyone for coming. Most people took this as a sign that the meeting was over and started to pack up and leave. However this was just the meetings call to order. Following a prayer and the Pledge of Allegiance the City Council meeting began.
The working document attempts to substitute operating restrictions for land use planning. This will only punish existing local gravel operators, and will not address the real issues of cumulative negative impacts of large new pits added to existing ones. Can you please explain when or how this council will plan to control the numbers and impacts of new aggregate developments, and how many pits is the county prepared to monitor?
The open session first began by reporting any actions taken in the closed session. I did not note the summary report from the closed session, the mayor went through it hastily. It was then followed by the recognition of Restorative Justice Week and recreational events. Recreational events mentioned were: Veterans Appreciation, Firefighter Memorial, Marina Youth Arts, and an Open House on Fire Prevention. The session the moved to announcements from the floor, any member of the Public or the City Council is able to make announcements and comments that are of interest to the Public or Council. I found this to be interesting as any member of the public or the City Council is able to speak up to 4 minutes, most cities allots two minutes. People took the opportunity to express their thoughts on Measures: E, U, V, and X. The majority of the floor discussion was spent on members of the Public disputing over the ordinance of mayor election signs. Some of which were appalled by Bruce Delgado’s actions towards the other candidate’s signage, accusing the mayor of taking down signs and asking for apologies. Two individuals in particular were Katy Murchant and Kevin Saunders. Both essentially accused the current mayor of taking down signs and filed police reports against the mayor; along with an apology from the council. Then other individuals began
Interventions provided during this service: Intensive care coordination services were provided via a CFT (Child Family Team) meeting. WYP gathered information during the meeting. The client wants to engage in boxing as a positive activity and a positive coping tool for his frustration. The DPO gave the approval for the client to begin boxing. Client is excited to begin boxing. WYP updated the team of the client's achievements. The client is doing better with conveying his feelings toward his mother doing the meeting (wanting to find work as soon as possible). WYP advised the client to apply for jobs online,
The Organization of American States (OAS) brings together the countries of Western Hemisphere to strengthen cooperation and to advance common interests. It is the region’s premier forum for multilateral dialogue and concerted action. The OAS helps in many different ways to make changes around the world. Actually the OAS is having a meeting in Ft. Lauderdale (Florida) and some of their actions are showing their interest to defend democracy and human rights around Latin America as for example in Venezuela. Furthermore, the OAS demonstrates interest in Strengthening Security, and combating illegal drugs in Colombia (South America); one of the most important things the OAS is focused on is the fostering free trade between countries’ members association. This OAS meeting in Ft. Lauderdale is making history, focusing in the most critical problems that countries from Latin American are trying to combat.
