In this particular video, Peter is graduating high school. Through his high school years, Peter’s behavior has changed drastically. Although he is not as “normal” as the other children, he has adapted very well as he aged. In his high school years, he began to learn life skills through the help of his aide. His family wanted to ensure that he would be able to cope in the world on his own. Peter was able to take on and hold jobs. He was able to work at a bookstore, hotel and a couple of other positions. Peter, now, knows how to dress himself and is, even, refusing help from his mother. Peter is also able to walk to the bus stop without assistance. Peter, even, went to prom. In this video, I take, that the time of diagnosis really has no effect on whether or not a child is able to adapt and become normal. It is believed that the earlier the child is diagnosed, that the better the chances are for the child to become normal. I feel that children with disabilities should not be frowned upon or seen as being different. They should be treated the same as others. Children with disabilities also should have a mandatory aide. I feel that it would be a big help to not only the child but the teacher. The aide will provide a closer companion for the child outside of his peers. The aide will help lighten the worries of the teacher and assist in providing an effective plan to help the child due to the aide having a closer relationship to the child. Peter is a prime example of how children with disabilities are able to live normally with the proper support. Peter had a teacher that cares, classmates that were willing to help and eventually receive an aide. He was able to graduate high school while holding jobs like a normal teenager. This was
