Marriage is an important part of people’s lives. It’s when you marry the person that you hope that you will end up growing old with. A regular marriage to people’s eyes is finding the person you love and getting married in a banquet hall with a priest and flowers. Not all marriages are celebrated the same. Some cultures believe in the parents choosing who they will end up with, while in other cultures peopel give money to the bride before she gets married as a sign of being independent and ready to start a new chapter in her life. There are so many different religions in the world and so many different types of marriages. Out of all the different ethnic group's Arab groups, Spanish/Hispanic/Latina, Caucasian, African American, and Asians have the most different types of marriage. My research question is how do various ethnic groups socialise to perform marriages?

The plan begins with a Tulba. The “tulba” is a professional way of asking for the hand of the bride. This event is more private and limited to only close relatives of the bride and groom.
