Anti-Semitism There are many social justice issues to deal with, a huge list. They range from racism, to poverty issues to heterosexism. All these examples have been covered and discussed profusely recently, in the media and on the internet. People are very focused on these issues, and there is nothing wrong with that, those issues deserve to be brought to light, but those issues do not involve me or affect me. The social justice issue that does affect me is not discussed at all and seems to be the taboo topic of the year. It is anti-Semitism, something that still occurs in the United States to this day, and something that I am very invested in and interested in changing.

Issues that seem more prominent right now than anti-Semitism. These “more important” issues are all over the internet causing an uproar. But that doesn’t mean anti-Semitics should be able to run rampant, continuing their hateful nature. And if you don’t believe this still a problem, during the Olympics, a boxer from Syria named Ala Ghasoun refused to fight an Israeli boxer because it, “would mean that I, as an athlete, and Syria, as a state, recognize the state of Israel.” No one payed attention to this and another anti-Semitic event that occurred at the Olympics. It was not all over the internet. I only heard of it because one of my Jewish friends linked it on Facebook. So those other issues are valid, but if it was covered and cared about, anti-Semitism would become just as terrifying an issue as other, more famous issues. In an age where electronics are the way people see news, and an age where the internet has millions of different stories posted at any given time, the most seen problem is given the attention. Because of this, people do not see the extreme pain and prejudice that hateful people have caused a lot of innocent Jews, because it is not broadcasted.
Even so, the fact the internet is available everywhere is also a light in a positive direction. In a few short hours, and with one powerful article on anti-Semitism, people could become more aware and become more educated. People would start to realize that
