Imagine yourself buried in soft, warm, and cozy blankets while watching your best-loved T.V. show. Do you ever wonder of the snowflakes outside in the blizzard feeling wind? You should learn about snowflakes formation, conditions, and myths.
To start with, there is a lot to a snowflakes formation, first, the snowflake must form by a dust or pollen particle coming in contact with water vapor in Earth's high atmosphere. Then, the water vapor coats the particle and freezes, and transforms it into a tiny piece of ice called the "seed." After the seed is formed, a snowflake will form after the seed grows. There is more to a snowflakes formation, but mostly snowflakes are made by those requirements.
Next after that, formation isn't all to that snowflake process. There has to be pure conditions for a snowflake to form. According to the article, Snow Day, " Large, wet snowflakes form when the air is closest to 32 degrees because there is more moisture in the air. If the temperature is 15 degrees or below, snowflakes wont form or fall." Also, the grounds temperature is required to be 32 degrees Fahrenheit or below to settle on the ground. A snowflake's conditions are somewhat tough to realize, but interesting to study.

Well, there are myths about snowflakes too! Most snowflakes you've seen on T.V. were alike, but you thought wrong. Truthfully, no two snowflakes are alike. Snowflakes are not frozen raindrops, although frozen raindrops are exactly called "sleet." Snowflakes are called "snow crystals," which they actually are a miniature crystals made up of snow. Myths are everywhere about these snowflakes, and we need to know what's fake information, and what is honest
Rain can sometimes have a symbolic meaning. It can be shown as something pure or the washing away of someone's wrong doings. On the other hand snow can be seen as something different. Wether it's cold and inhuman and stark. However it can also be seen as pure.
The heavy annual snowfall on Lassen Peak creates fourteen permanent patches of snow on and around the mountain top, despite Lassen's rather modest elevation, but no glaciers.
Lake-Effect snow has a range of different intensities depending upon certain factors. The difference between the air temperature and the water temperature will determine how much moisture is taken into the air. Warmer water and colder air makes for more snow. Also the distance the air has to travel across the lake will determine how much moisture the air is able to obtain. The ability of the storm to travel inland will be determined by the intensity of the storm’s winds. Storms also are able travel farther inland in late fall and early winter.

Point release avalanches, or loose snow slides, begin at one point on a slope and get progressively wider as they proceed down the slope. A fundamental characteristic that must be present for this type of avalanche to occur is a surface layer of cohesionless, or nearly cohesionless, snow (University of Colorado IBS 1975; Fredston and Fesler 1994). An initially small amount of snow begins to move downward when the force of gravity is greater than the forces of cohesion at a particular angle or when debris from above starts the s...
“At 12:42 p.m. the air was perfectly calm for about one minute; the next minute the sky was completely overcast by heavy black clouds which, for a few minutes previous, had hung along the western and northwestern horizon, and the wind veered to the west and blew with such violence as to render the position of the observer on the roof unsafe. The air was immediately filled with snow as fine as sifted flour” (Potter). No one expected the blizzard that would soon come rolling over to create some of the unfortunate deaths. Now, the questions are what exactly happened during the storm, how are snowstorms created, and what damages it caused.
Through most of my time in high school, I always found myself writing more of exploratory writing for two simple reasons; it took a shorter amount of time, and relating writing to my personal experiences was something I had no need to look up. Exploratory writing is a time to take advantage to relate your own personal experiences and an attempt to make a connection with a certain reading. The experiences you have will not be exactly the same as you’re classmate and might be very enjoyable to read. Lamott and Hairston both use explanatory and exploratory writing in their essays by explaining the techniques of what good writers do and applying their own personal experiences. By applying both explanatory and exploratory in their essay they are able to provide the reader with new ideas they can adopt to improve their writing skills.
Frostbite occurs when your body's survival mechanism kicks in during extremely cold weather. Your body cuts back circulation from your extremities such as your hands, feet, and nose to keep your vital organs and inside of your body warm. When these parts of your body are exposed to the cold they receive less warm blood and eventually freeze. First degree frostbite occurs when ice crystals begin forming on your skin. Second degree frostbite is when your ski...
Roses are red, violets are blue, Snow White has changed, everything’s new. This is a different beginning than the original story of Little Snow White by the Grimm Brothers and retold by the director Rupert Sanders, in the movie Snow White and the Huntsman. The original story portrays Snow White as a beautiful, but naive, young woman, leading up to her eating a poisoned apple from the evil queen. The evil queen has been jealous of Snow White after she has grown up and become more beautiful. Although in both the story and the movie, Snow White eats a poisoned apple, Snow White in Snow White and the Huntsman is portrayed as more brave and courageous, even after she wakes up from the poisoned apple. In the end, both the story and the movie show that Snow White’s triumphs out rules all, no matter what is thrown at her, but the difference is in how. While there are many common motifs across the story and the movie; Gender roles have changed over time, as shown in the
If the temperature on land isn’t cold enough to change the water to snow, it may fall as freezing rain, snow, or
Snow White by the Brothers Grimm explores the theme of insecurity which can be defined as one’s subjective evaluation of his or her own self. The fairytale is a story about a Queen who seeks to be the prettiest by constantly asking her mirror “Mirror, Mirror, on the wall, who’s the fairest of them all?.” Initially it was always her; however, as the story progresses and as her stepdaughter Snow White matures, the mirror states that Snow White is the fairest. This causes the step-mother to try to kill Snow White through a huntsman, using a comb, a corset, and finally an apple. This mirror phrase seems to raise more and more anger the more it is asked. One could assume that the mirror is the judging factor in the phrase, but after a closer look on a psychological level, the
Wind tunnel and flight tests have shown that frost, snow, and ice accumulations (on the leading edge or upper surface of the wing) no thicker or rougher than a piece of coarse sandpaper can reduce lift by 30 percent and increase drag up to 40 percent. Larger accretions can reduce lift even more and can increase drag by 80 percent or more. (AOPA, 2002, 2).
Snowmen were built all throughout the years as art and to tell stories. They go all the way back to the dark ages. These ghastly snow forms somehow wandered into being the loveable lumps of snow we see today(Burbank). Snowmen were a phenomenon in the middle ages.
The myth that snowflake’s is curious to me and since I am making up some of my own myths, so I can have an idea of what it is and then one day we will know the truth, but what If my theory is near that I am going to very proud of myself and that will be awesome, that I am a thinker of my ideas and that I am going to be proud when I am agreeing to my decisions that will be helpful. The things that I think a snowflake come from is that a man, a giant let down their enraged with snowflake’s and that makes us cheerful to see but kinda man put to see a lot of people glorious makes them joyful and that he knows that homeless leaving people without a home, but some deserve it that some did drugs that ruin there life and that they elected
At this time, technology is rapidly becoming advanced to the point that hardly a day goes by when we are not engaged in some sort of interaction with technology for the main the mode of communication, information, and entertainment. On a daily basis, most high school students, teachers and administrators, engage in the use of computers or a smart device, such as a smart phone or IPad, to check Email, go online for course updates, or to complete tasks associated with online courses. For most schools and businesses, computers are used all day in some manner. The cost of an electronic book is usually a fraction of the cost of a printed book offers the added convenience of not having to carry or store a large, heavy, cumbersome print textbook.
