Smart Drugs Among Teenagers

Illegal use of smart drug among teenagers has created an obstacle in society. To begin with, teenagers get addicted to drugs like Adderall because dose of this drug is very high. Teenagers use these drugs for many reasons like because they want to do better in their college career. In many situations, students take these smart drugs like Adderall to improve mental implementation like helping a student to get inspired, fight off weakness, study for exams, and improve attention and focus. People who take or sell smart drugs illegally, will have to face legal consequences. If students are caught with these drugs then there could be serious consequence like jail, not getting the job that they want, criminal records, or life in prison; also colleges could take action and expel students for using illegal smart drugs. These drugs might help

students to feel free from pressure and help achieve their short-term goals like getting better grades; however, when students depend on these smart drugs, they will not perform better in the long run. These drugs are addictive and will just divert their minds.
As the neuroenhancing market drugs grows, not only people will feel pressure to take the drugs, but they will also feel pressure to work harder, creating an “even more overworked and driven” (Talbot 518). To perform better, longer, and faster in the workplace and school increases, “we have to take drugs to keep up” (Talbot, 518). According to the article by Michelle Trudeau “More Students Turning Illegally to Smart Drugs” and “Brain Gain” by Margaret Talbot’s both authors claim that selling this drug like Adderall can help students focus on their studies. Margaret, discusses how these drugs may improve our mental development; however, these smart drugs… and there is wide-spread misuse of drugs on college campus. According to Talbot, those who took the Adderall drug to “performed better on several tasks...and were better in recognizing repeated visual patterns” than those who received a palliative (514). Although these smart drugs help students perform better, but it has a negative side effect like cause problems such as increased heart rate, sleeplessness, pains, sickness and, loss of taste.
It is especially hard for students to resist smart drugs because of peer pressure. For example, when I was Junior in high school there used to be a small group of seniors who took pills without prescription daily after school. I saw this group once back of the school where they always met. I know one of them because he was my friend. I never asked him what type of drug he was taking because I didn’t want to come into trouble. But, I knew that they were taking some type of drugs that helped to free their mind. I knew him because he was in my pre-calculus class. In the beginning of the year in class, he had low score in math, he rarely understood the concepts. In marking period one his grade was D. At the end of the year, I marked something about him had changed like; his attitude was different and he was now focusing on studies. He passed with A- average. I asked him how he did this, he told me that he takes smart drugs called Adderall. Teens use smart drugs to feel grown up among their peer. They have pressured about their family or relationship that they don’t want to deal with.
The highest average of using drugs takes place on university grounds.

Because, after focusing on studies all day, teens want these drugs so they can feel free. Illegally taking drugs prescribed, such as Adderall, has become more popular among college students who are trying to do perform excellent university needs. According to the study’s press release, “more than one million American students misuse prescription drugs, or take illegal stimulants to increase attention span, memory, and the capacity to stay awake.”(Gladu). The outcomes of taking these drugs include injuries in working memory, dizziness, trouble sleeping, dry mouth, and nervousness but it also depends on a person's body. For example: in the article by Alex Glad she gives a description of a student's name Amanda. Who was the stress of college life and homework? One night she tried (ADD) Adderall, and see if they dose of a drug can help her focus on studies for a test the next day. She bought this pill without prescription from his friend who sold this smart drug. After fifteen minutes her response was that she felt better and can focus on studies for a test

tomorrow.
Students are wasting their half of the time sitting in front of a computer studying and finishing homework. When professors remind students that there will be tests in the next class, student start to study at the last moment. Due to tests we sometimes limit our bodies by eating late night foods, overwhelming ourselves with amounts of caffeine and sometimes take a little sleep. In many cases, students get on to these drug to fresh there mind. This drug can help person to focus for an extensive amount of time and it can help a person to stay awake for long hours of the night. Especially, when studying for a difficult subject, sometime it would be easy for a person to become dependent on the drug for that subject.
Students should be made aware of the legal outcomes of doing illegal smart drugs can cause them serious consequence. I want to tell all students that are taking smart drugs or not can cause you suffering from bad health and you can fail classes. College students who are under twenty one year old and take drugs; or students who is twenty one year older and supply drugs to minors there will be legal action, such as suspension or expulsion or even arrest. However, illegal use of drugs is a federal crime, so students caught using illegal smart drugs might be exposed to crucial legal consequences.
The United States has a higher proportion of using drugs, especially among college students. Some people make smart decisions and some don’t. People who do not take drugs for many reasons like they care about their physical health, career, friends, and family. They know if the start taking drugs once, it will get addicted and it’s a waste of money. On the other hand, some peoples take drugs because they want to bring change in their lives. For example, family problem and cannot concentrate on a career. They take drugs to fill free from pressure they carry all day long. Teens should not depend on any kind of drug to be able to do their homework because it’s cheating. The solution to these drugs is simple, students need to eat better time managing skills. Using a drug to improve better on exams should be considered dishonest. Just like players can’t take steroids to improve act on the field, students should not take drugs to improve their grades in the class.
