Skeet shooting is unique among the other shooting sports because rather than being a sport from the start, it was designed to help shooters improve their bird hunting abilities and due to its increasing popularity became a competitive sport. This eventually led to ranges located all over the United States, different associations for the sport, and a National Championship shoot that would attract shooters from all over the world. There is even a variation of the sport shot in the Olympics today. Even though some people consider it to be a competitive sport, there are some who still use it to help with bird hunting as it was originally intended for.
The sport originated in Andover, Massachusetts and was created by a dog kennel owner and avid
The Reason that people need a tank when they play paintball is because you need a way to force the paintballs out of the gun and this cannot be achieved effectively by just using a spring. What they decided to do was to fuel the paintballs by pushing them with a gas. The way in which they did this was to put the gases, either Oxygen, Carbon Dioxide or Nitrogen under extreme pressure until they turned into a liquid and once they are in a liquid form they can be blown into a tank which probably looks something like this.

Zen in the Art of Archery, by Eugen Herrigel describes the ritualistic arts of discipline and focus that the Zen religion focuses around. In this book, Herrigel describes many aspects of how archery is, in fact, not a sport, but an art form, and is very spiritual to those in the east. The process he describes shows how he overcame his initial inhibitions and began to look toward new ways of seeing and understanding. In the beginning of the book Herrigel tells us that he is writing about a ritual and religious practice, “whose aim consists in hitting a spiritual goal, so that fundamentally the marksman aims at himself and may even succeed in hitting himself.” (Herrigel p. 4) Through his studies, the author discovers that within the Zen ritual actions, archery in this case, there lies a deeper meaning. Herrigel explains throughout this book that it is not through the actual physical aspect of shooting arrows at targets that archery is Zen, but through the art and spirituality through which it is performed. It is not merely shooting an arrow to hit a target, but becoming the target yourself and then, in turn, hitting yourself spiritually. By meeting this spiritual goal, you will then meet the physical goal. The struggle then is, therefore not with the arrow or the target but within oneself.
Participation in sports and games has long been a part of Native culture. The most significant example of a sport invented and played by Natives is lacrosse. Lacrosse is still designated as the official sport of Canada despite the overwhelming popularity of hockey (http://canada.gc.ca). Lacrosse was one of many varieties of indigenous stickball games being played by Native Americans and Canadians at the time of European contact. Almost exclusively a male team sport, it is distinguished from other stick and ball games, such as field hockey or shinny, by the use of a netted racquet with which to pick the ball off the ground, throw, catch and vault it into or past a goal to score a point.
Do you want to learn about one of the most amazing sports in the world? Lacrosse is considered to be the first sport in America. Evin Demirel an editor for The Daily Beast insists lacrosse was the first sport to be played because “it was first played by Native Americans around a millennium ago” (paragraph 10). Lacrosse was the most widespread sport in America because so many Native American villages played the sport together. Lacrosse got its name from the French. They named it Lacrosse which means the game of the stick. Lacrosse is the oldest and hardest sport still being played today.
Americas oldest organized sport, which can be traced back to the 1400s originating in the Great Lakes
Lacrosse is the oldest team sport in North America, having been played by Native American tribes long before any European had even set foot on the continent. A century after European missionaries discovered the game played by Native Americans, they began to play it themselves, starting in the 18th century. From there, it evolved and grew in popularity from a very savage game that resembled war, into what it is today, a recreational sport played widely in America and other countries. As U.S. Lacrosse literature aptly puts it, “Lacrosse is a game born of the North American Indian, christened by the French, adopted and raised by the Canadians, and later dominated by the Americans.” When the first people of America started playing lacrosse centuries ago, the game served many purposes.
When many people think of hunting, they think of cruel, evil people senselessly killing innocent animals. What they don’t realize is that hunting is a passed down tradition and a way for people to bond with others who share a love for the sport. There are two main types of hunting: bowhunting and hunting with a rifle. There are strict rules and regulations that apply to hunting, so someone can’t just go out and start shooting up all the animals. Before anyone can hunt, they have to pass a class and a field test in order to get their license.
Modern advances have reduced the need for archers to have perfect form and complete control over their body. This translates to a sport which is more accessible and immediately fulfilling compared to the time-honed training of the past. Nonetheless, the foundations of good archery remain unchanged regardless of the make and model that you hold in your hands. Possessing the skill to shoot well with traditional bows directly translates to the ability to shoot well with modern bows. The opposite is not true; those who have relied entirely on modern gadgets to shoot often have to start fresh when using a traditional bow.

Many people wonder how and when lacrosse was started. Maybe even why it was started. Lacrosse is a very complex sport and also very different from other sports. Lacrosse was made a very long time ago, which may be the reason why it is so different from other sports. Some people may not even know what lacrosse is. Lacrosse was made because it prepared young boys for war, it was a religious sport at the time, and also because it was entertaining to play and to watch.

This article goes into detail as why people who hunt think of it as more than a sport. This to me is the best article that goes into why hunting is such a big part of the word we live in today and why we need to preserve it. A “Sport hunter” far from just a sport. A “Sport Hunter” can go the Theodore Roosevelt These people who “Sport Hunt” are their to make sure animals are on the earth and continue to strive. “What I’m interested in is making my hunting comprehensible to others. And in a world like ours, where discussions of hunting are already full of pitfalls and confusions, “sport” and “recreation” only get in the way.”(Cerulli 2011) This quote to me explains to me why people are so frustrated and believe that people who hunt have the wrong intentions. Their whole life they have seen social media say hunting 's killing the earth and animals are going extent because of hunter. I believe many people are to close minded with hunting, and do not explore the reasons why people hunt and what it means to the people that
Archery, a sport that dates back to centuries before today, has been modernized to become more efficient and high tech. The Egyptian made the first complex bow in 2800 BC. The bow was made from sheep intestines and the arrow was light and efficient enough to be shot from 400 yards away and still penetrate the armor used at that time. Archery was a skill set that was prized in the military, especially in Rome. However, in 16th century a new tide was turning in Europe, firearms were slowly replacing the bow and arrow as military weapons. Other parts of the world were not as fast to leave behind archery this weapon. The people of the Far East employed archery in warfare until the 19th century, while people in Central and South Africa still use it to this day for hunting and intertribal fighting. Archery, in many parts of the world today, is viewed by some as a recreational sport and by others, as a competitive sport. Due to this, the shapes of the bow and the arrow have gone through many changes since the first model of the bow and arrow.
