A fantastic theme park to go to on a hot day would be Six Flags. The rides there range from calm in the kiddie zone to scream-tastic on the edges of the park. One of the most legendary ride is The Titan. It has a 255 foot drop and it goes up to 85 miles per hour. If you are a thrill seeker, then you must try this ride. If you do not like heights or extremely fast roller coasters, then I recommend that you ride Batman. It’s only 109 feet tall at its peak and the top speed is only 50 miles per hour. The ride allows you to see what it be like if you were a flying superhero. Even my father, who doesn’t like roller coasters and has back problems, said that this was his favorite ride. Now if you think that you won’t enjoy either of these rides, then
there is always the Mini Mine Train. It is a slower ride with a top speed of 20 miles per hour. At the highest point of the ride, you’re only 20 feet above the ground. This is one of my favorite slow rides because the curves on the track loads of extra fun.
James A. Young died Thursday in a roller coaster accident at Six Flags Amusement Park in Chicago, IL. While riding the American Eagle, James’s safety harness came unbuckled while in a climb and he was launched out of his seat on the descent at one hundred and twentyseven feet above the ground, breaking his spine and severing his nervous system. James died shortly after impact. James’s wife, Diana, was a seat behind her husband when the accident happened and she describes the incident as heart wrenching. The owner of Six Flags has made a memorial speech in memory of James and his family that is expected to be announced this Thursday, July 30th at 3 PM. The speech will take place at Six
Traveling to an amusement park is a family’s finest way to bond, but is it worth the time and drive to attend just any amusement park? This essay will compare and contrast Six Flags San Antonio, SeaWorld San Antonio, and Disney World Florida from price range, food, and the variety of rides.
The Sirens of Titan Marek Vit "It took us that long to realize that a purpose of human life, no matter who is controlling it, is to love whoever is around to be loved." (Vonnegut:220) The Sirens of Titan is Kurt Vonnegut's second novel. He has written it in 1959, seven years after his previous Player Piano. It has been described as a pure science fiction novel and, after only one reading, it really can be considered to be one. The intricate plot and fascinating detail may obscure the serious intent of the novel.

A 2000 film, Remember the Titans, is based on a true story. This movie portrays an African American Coach Herman Boone played by Denzel Washington and a successful Caucasian high school coach Bill Yoast played by Will Patton. This movie takes place during period when schools in Virginia were segregated. It wasn’t until the early 70’s when a federal mandate came into play requiring that two schools in Alexandria, Virginia integrate its students. As a part of this change, the Alexandria school board had also decided to hire on an African American football coach, Herman Boone.
There are a whole host of defenses that amusement parks and ride manufacturers may raise in a personal injury lawsuit. The defenses discussed below can be defenses involving amusement park rides.
One of the best vacation spots and most fun are down the shore in Wildwood, New Jersey. Wildwood consists of a boardwalk with tons of rides and fun, a beach with a beautiful ocean, and little summerhouses with ocean-side views. The best attractions though would probably be located on the boardwalk. There are so many things to see and do. Although it’s rather costly, it’s well worth it and it’s a great place for a family to share quality time together.
The article “Joyland Amusement Park Comes To A Sad End” is written by Beccy Tanner, who is a Journalist for the Wichita Eagle. Beccy Tanner specializes in articles about Kansas History. In her article she talked about the demolition of Joyland. The park was built in 1949 by the Ottaway’s and in the 1970’s the Nelson family purchased the park from the Ottaway family. The park then closed in 2006. The purpose of this article was to inform Wichita citizens about the demolition of Joyland, a place that once held many precious memories. The targeted audience was specifically the people who live in or near the Wichita area. The article was very easy to read and understand. I agree with the author’s stance that Joyland needs to be preserved, but
First, there is the Raging River. Through the beautiful wooded area of the park, this slide, simulating a ride down rapids, is open to riding by yourself or with a partner. Next, there is the Blackout where you plummet down a twisty slide in total darkness. Following the Blackout is the Twister, the slide where you go into a 360 degree loop, again, either by yourself or with a friend. If you are feeling competitive, the Double Down is a double laned slide where you race someone to the end! This water slide, called the Splash Down, has steep drops where you slide headfirst on a mat into sharp, fast turns. CAT 4 is many people’s favorite, including my brother. This slide is where you fly down a hilltop drop then splash into Lake Lanier. CAT 4 has four lanes, so you can go with a lot of people. The most exhilarating sides are side by side, the Intimidator and Triple Threat. On the Intimidator, you practically slide straight down, while on the Triple Threat, you experience three heart-pounding drops. Finally, the Typhoon, famous for its high turns and rapid decline, this slide gives you the impression of a real Typhoon. These water slides at LanierWorld are sure to appeal to seventh
The bus that took us to the Theme Park was huge, with room for a
...copter ride; you can take a baby on your lap and s/he flies for free. The views are stunning, and the moment the helicopter flies from the top of the rim into the Grand Canyon is amazing.
A hot air balloon ride lets you see the area like you've never seen it before. The scenery is stunning, the ride is exhilarating. These rides are a wonderful way to mark a special occasion. Engagements, graduation celebration, birthday celebrations, or just because you want to do something romantic and different are all reasons to book a ride. We're only 60 minutes from New York City, and close enough for residents of New Jersey, and Pennsylvania to join us for a spectacular
my family there for the first time when I was about three. To this day I still
Amusement parks are by far one of the most thrilling places on earth. As you wait in a long line to get in park, you can hear numerous kids, adults, and tourist shouting off the top of their lungs due to a tremendous jaw-dropping drop on their beloved roller coasters.
