In every child’s mind, they always have dream to be a hero, however, it is not easy to be a hero, and hero is imperfect exist. Since they have strong leadership, they always care about others and protect them. Sometimes as a hero they are luckier than normal people, they could gain supernatural power as their shields. Nevertheless, they have their unique characteristics, they can handle the problem in different attitudes. As the character in book “Odyssey” who was “Odysseus” wrote by Homer and the other in Bible “Moses”, they had similar characteristics, however they also had some differences. Odysseus preferred to use violence to solve the problem, and he was easy to get angry. Especially the time he treated the suitors, “You yellow dogs, you thought I’d never make it home from the land of Troy. You took my house to plunder, twisted my maids to serve your beds. You dared bid for my wife while I was still alive. Contempt was all you had for the gods who rule wide heaven, contempt for what men say of you hereafter. Your last hour has come. You die in blood” (23.34-40). Odysseus decided to kill all the suitors to protect his family, which proved he was a blood thirty man. Nevertheless Moses was quite peaceful, he would like to use irenic way to solve conflict between Egyptians and Israel. For example, “And thou shalt say unto him, The Lord God of the Hebrews hath sent me unto thee, saying, let my people go, that they may serve me in the wilderness: and, behold, hitherto thou wouldest not hear” (Exo. 7.16). We can know that Moses tried to solved conflict with non-violence, instead of Odysseus’s violence. All in all Odysseus and Moses were both greater leader, however one prefers deal problem extremely, and the other would like to solve things
