What makes a hero? Is it the cape, the suit, or just saving the day? In reality, none of these make a hero. Three, real world, heroes are Andre 3000, Howie Mandel, and Danny Trejo. Andre is a creative powerhouse, using music to convey his thoughts. Howie Mandel went from an average life to a superstar in a different country than he was born in, and Danny Trejo made it big, despite his criminal past. These people have more in common than you may initially think. All three of these men are in the business of entertaining. Andre has appeared in several films, most notably his role as Jimi Hendrix in the film “All Is By My Side”. Howie is currently in “America’s Got Talent”, and Danny Trejo is widely known for his role as “Machete” in several …show more content…
films. While Andre 3000’s acting career never kicked off, his musical career was a major success. He was part the rap group ¨Outkast” and he had a solo career as well. Danny has also been appearing in fewer films and shows as of late. However, Howie has managed to stay relevant since his humble beginnings. Their shared passion for entertaining people is what makes them my heroes.
I enjoy speaking in front of crowds and making people laugh. Andre 3000, Howie Mandel, and Danny Trejo have made careers out of entertainment. Andre, in particular, is a musician, and Outkast, his rap group, produced songs such as Hey Ya!, Ms. Jackson, and Aquemini. His music has made massive commercial success as well with Outkast selling a total of over 25 million records. Howie Mandel has also reached a similar level of success, however in a different field of entertainment. He has starred in several high ranking shows such as ¨Deal or No Deal¨ and ¨America´s Got Talent¨. Howie has managed to create his success through pure skill. In his early days in comedy he only appeared at a few clubs such as ¨Yuk Yukś¨ and ¨The Comedy Store¨. While performing, he was discovered by a game show producer and booked for the show ¨Make Me Laugh¨. He has also attained his status with the disease mysophobia, a severe fear of germs. Danny Trejo, an actor, is widely known for his role as Machete. Not as well known is that he was discovered on set due to his criminal past. Edward Bunker, who had done time with Trejo at San Quentin Prison, recognized him and hired him to teach boxing. Bunker was so impressed that he hired Trejo for a minor role in the movie. Trejo has proved that it is possible to attain success despite of your
past. Heroes may not always be what you initially imagine. They aren’t all tight clad and superpowered. A hero means different things to different people. Andre 3000, Howie Mandel, and Danny Trejo are heroes to me.
Debra Rathwell is the Senior VP for AEG Live. Rathwell oversees the active New York office of AEG along with being a force in national touring. Rathwell has more than 30 years of experience in the industry and her dedication inspires me. I know she is well respected in the industry and I think it is impressive that she books on average 800 shows every year. Being a woman in the music industry is a big challenge, but Rathwell proves to me and the world that being hard working will help prove yourself. The first step that really started Rathwell’s career was during her last year at Carleton University in Ottawa, Ontario. Rathwell was Harvey Glatt’s assistant and went on to work as Bass Clef Entertainment, which partnered on shows with Canada’s concert leaders. This introduced Rathwell to the industry and the rest was like a snowball effect, one job led to another. Another step Rathwell took in her career was pivotal was joining Donald Tarlton for 12 years at DKD. With DKD, Rathwell managed a staff ...
Famous singer/actor,doctor,engineer,or the president of Canada, all these things require one thing;setting a goal and working hard to achieve it.Houdini was a famous illusionist,a person who performs tricks that deceive the eye. Who is a hero? In contemporary times, usage of the term has become somewhat of a cliché. Over the years, the term “hero” has become representative of a wide variety of individuals, each possessing differing traits. Some of the answers put forth by my colleagues (during our in-class discussion on heroism) as to whom they consider heroes pointed to celebrities, athletes, teachers and family members. Although the occupations differed, each of their heroes bore qualities that my classmates perceived as extraordinary, whether morally or physically. Nonetheless, Webster’s defines “hero” as “a person who is admired for great or brave acts or fine qualities.” Thus, it is worth considering that individuals become heroes relative to the situation with which they’re faced.
(Kevin Hart Quotes)Kevin Hart always wanted to be famous, he liked acting, comedy, and fitness, he produced all of these throughout his life and now he is one of the biggest names in the world, that just proves that you should never give up on your dream. Kevin has inspired people to chase their dream and never give up.
One of the people that I admire is Travis Barker. Travis Barker is a drummer in the band
Celebrity success is often idolized as a magic solution in which all of an individual’s problems will suddenly be erased and furthermore, the new on-brought attention will bring positive and lifting influence to the individual. Unfortunately, success is often not the solution. In To Pimp A Butterfly, Kendrick Lamar discusses his path to success, as well as the disappointment and turmoil associated with fame to demonstrate that success does not alleviate depression.
Coming from a musical background Terrence Mann most definitely lives up to his parents’ talent. He has formed a successful carreer around his talents. His career includes multiple appearances on Broadway, appearances in movies, and being a distinguished professor of musical theatre at Western Carolina. Today he passes on his passion for young people who hope to one day become as successful and well know as Terrence Mann.
What I personally believe makes a hero, is a person that is brave and courageous. Courage is one of the biggest characteristics you need to be considered a hero. Heroism is all about how far you’ll go to protect or serve the people and how far you go is all about how much courage and bravery you have to take such quality to the next level.
According to google.com a hero is someone who “is admired or idealized for courage, outstanding achievments, or noble equalities.” (google.com). For example, superman , superman is an all time american classic modern hero who is admired for his courage and for saving earth multiple times from super villains. Another example of a hero is Beowulf. Beowulf was created around 1000 AD and was known far and wide throughout the lands for his selflessness, bravery, and courage .
All fame begins when you do something noticeable. For example, actors and actresses build upon their careers and reputations by achieving excellence in their personal goals, as well as perfecting their public performance.
A hero could be anyone. A hero could be an ordinary person who has impacted someone or has inspired a change toward greatness in their life. A hero can be passive or active, famous or ordinary, rich or poor. What gives a hero a distinct similarities to other heroes and distinguish them from non heroes is their ability to influence others that they are extraordinary because of their means to overcome obstacles, defeated adversities, and still manage to be a leader, role model, or an admirable person within society.
Hero-a person who, in the opinion of others, has special achievements, abilities, or personal qualities and is regarded as a role model or ideal. That is the official definition stated in the Webster dictionary. A person who qualifies to be a hero by this definition would be Derek Jeter.
When Brittany Murphy died, when Lindsay Lohan was jailed, when Britney Spears shaved off her hair, the question was asked – what have we done to these kids? We all love rags to riches stories, but it seems that the people are almost as fond of riches to rags – or let’s say, stardom to failure. What happens when a successful young performer becomes a has-been star? The high-profile troubles of celebs like Michael Jackson and Gary Coleman reinforces the truth that nearly every kid who has worked in the entertainment industry has struggled as an adult. Although some may argue that several child stars have gone on to have stable and successful careers as adults, our contention here is that a lot of celebrities who were exposed to the limelight at a young age become scarred for life by their early success and fame and tend to compensate for the childhood they were deprived of during their later years in life.
One of the most important steps to becoming famous is mastering an art. It is not enough to be good at something, you need to be outstanding in whatever area that you choose. Today, there are so many people who are famous that you need to stand out from the crowd. Along the way there will be people who offer you advise. However not all the advise that you are given will be good. There are some people who are condescending and patronising. Others will tell you to give up on your dreams, but you should not listen to them. However, you also need to respect authority. Therefore, it is important to listen to those who can provide knowledge that can be trusted.
This is the success, money, and fame. Believe it or not, they all go hand in hand most of the time anyway. When a certain human obtains a doctorate, they can then pursue a dream to use their new-found knowledge to provide happiness to oneself. Happiness is the key to success when enjoying the profession chosen, anyone can reach previously thought as impossible levels. Look at Richard Branson, everyone told sir Branson he was never going to make it. Now look he is super rich and famous. But back on the topic, whilst being successful, one can receive large amounts of cash from jobs, that he or she now has the qualifications for. Many, many people love money, the green, little, piece of notepaper, rules multiple lives in the world today. Which is sad but makes sense because everything costs money, no matter where you go or what you do. Once, successful and having lots of cash, mostly like this human is famous for multiple reasons. First, he or she could be a billionaire. Secondly, this person might have invented something and or reached the New York Times headline. Essentially one way or another a wealthy successful man or female can be famous if they want to. If not all they have to do in the society today is flash a little bit of their wealth and then start teaching people how to reach the level, he or she would be at. On top of all of this, multiple famous people actually have
