Should we move to the new campus?
“Is every new thing better than old?” On 5 November 2013, UM held the inauguration ceremony for the new campus in the University Hall on new campus, and all the students will go to the new campus soon. It seems very good to the students, but some students actually have the same question, “should we move to the new campus?” Of course, everything has its good side and bad side. For moving to the new campus, most students think that its disadvantage is more than the advantage. There are three things that show why students should not move to the new campus, and they are students are having part-time job, the transport is not good, and the new campus does not have enough dormitories.
First, the transport that going to the new campus is really bad. As the new campus is far away from downtown, it is very expensive for students to drive their own cars or take the taxi, because taxi only will take the passenger who go to the casino, the new campus is too far from the downtown. And there is only two bus lines going to the new campus. If there are many studen...
This shift in university life has caused the emergence of a more focused and hard-working student body. There are those from past generations who will look at the happenings of colleges today and ridicule this change. And even after moving through the nostalgic haze that surrounds the memories of the past, the differences can still be seen, but it should be known that today's students are just adapting to the system that has already been established for them. This systematic change is to be expected. Considering that the world is not the same as it was in the 1960s, why would we assume that an institution would be exactly the same as it was
The issue at hand is that Duquesne University students are displeased with the transportation services available to them specifically the SGA Loop Bus. I believe Matt Liberatore speaks for the majority of students when he commented (about the Loop Bus) saying, “It is not as effective as it should be. They’re inconsistent, and aren’t enough prevalent as they should be.” Problems were evident from the beginning of its existence. The Loop Bus is a free service to students of Duquesne University that runs Friday and Saturday beginning at 5:00 in the evening and ending as early as 12:30 and as late as 2:30am. This leads to many cases of being stranded in unfamiliar places throughout the city. Matt also commented on how was inconvenienced during his freshman and sophomore years where he remembers waiting hours until another bus would come because the previous was too small.
There’s been a lot of discussion about closed campus at HVHS. I think having a closed campus at HVHS would be a wonderful idea! First the food that they serve at HVHS is super delicious and very nutritious. Second, students on a closed campus can socialize and get more involved with the students around campus making new friends. Third and last staying on campus can keep students safe and away from accidents and drugs.
The Truth Behind the Bus There are many controversial issues concerning the bus service provided by Buena Vista University. BVU Rides, commonly known as the “Drunk Bus,” receives great reviews from the students using it at Buena Vista. However, members of the Storm Lake community are not as appreciative of this service. It is important, nonetheless, that people learn facts about BVU Rides in order to make an educated judgment. According to Behind the Arch, an essay compiled by students of Buena Vista University about the drinking issues within the university, citizens of Storm Lake feel that the “Drunk Bus” endorses drinking and drunkenness.
..., and huge useless but good looking buildings. All this fancy things translates to a higher tuition rates and to more debt for students to pay after they finish school and hoping to land on a good paying job.
The decision of whether or not one should commute to college or live on campus is one of the toughest amongst all college students. This is because it will affect many things in your life including: family relationships, how fast you can finish your homework, how much money you will spend, the food you eat, how you earn and spend money, and your overall college experience. How you view and value these aspects of your life will help you make the decision to either live on campus or commute.
"It's almost impossible to find a decent parking spot in the middle of the day that's close to the building that my class is in," she said. Majority of Gabrielle's classes have taken place in the Science Building; therefore, she must park in the D-Lot which happens to be packed Monday- Friday. She has been late quite a few times for her midday classes because of the lack of parking spaces. Another concern for a student at USCA is the lack of communication from each department.
Three essential concepts associated with this nonfiction article include, a purpose, the audience, and the voice of the author. The purpose of this piece is to inform. The purpose of informing is shown when the author wrote, “Whether you’re considering a big university, a small college, or something in between, you need to carefully look at all options, and determine what’s most important to you.”The author is trying to inform the audience about the different types of colleges. This piece will
For starters of what might be a reason for why students might not like the idea of having a closed campus is that the food that is served in this school is not good for the taste for any student’s appetite. In any case of foods the majority of the students in this school agree that any food that is served off campus is way better for anyone. And in any fact of what might be as a unique delicacy for students to have a good bite out of is in any how the food that can be made in their houses.
At the Rio Grande campus, a bigger parking garage has been built which helps in controlling the parking problem. Considering the situation that was present at Rio, no one ever thought that the problem of parking will ever be solved. When students expressed their feelings about the situation, the campus management decided to build a larger parking garage that has since helped the bigger population at the Rio Grande campus. The population at some ACC campuses are not as big as that of the Rio Grande campus but there is still hope that building a larger parking garage will help the students to park
Tuition over the years have made it the struggle for students and their parent to make ends meet. The dorms cost a lot that make it payment really high. Living off campus would make life so much easier for parents and myself because the cost of the school would not cost as much as it does living in the dorms. The school should let students live off campus if they have 2 or more people living with them. If the school did let students live off campus I feel like they should be able to have room checks just like they do in the dorms. If the parents of the students let them live off campus the school should be able to let them do it too. Because really the parents of the students have more authority over the school. I feel that now that a lot of the dorms are getting broken into that it would be way safer to live off campus. That way I know that it is my responsibility if someone was to break into my house. If anything is broking into in our room even if it is locked I don’t think the school pays to get any of the stuff replaced. So living off campus can help students to have responsibility and become a real adult in the college
Have you ever felt uncomfortable, scared, nervous, and confused? Well new students feel this way whenever they move to a new school. They have no idea if they'll make friends or if anyone would like them. But with the ambassador program new students will right away feel comfortable in their new surroundings, able to learn a new language and know their way around our school faster than someone who's been there for three years. If we had this program, they just might make a friend right away.
Many student strictly follows the bus schedule and expect the bus would be around when they arrive on time. But the bus driver sometimes leaves before schedules, student end up missing the bus they supposed to take and be late to their class. Another issue is there are not enough bus stops at the North Campus, the school only built bus stops at resident halls, and the only exception is student union. There is no bus stop for the academic buildings, such as Natural Science Complex or Capen Hall. This is the very inconvenience for the students who live on the Ellicott. The students who live on Ellicott either have to walk for 15 minutes to get to student union or they will have to wait for the bus. Most students get off the bus at the Student Union and then they will have to walk to their academic building through the tunnels. The student would have to leave the dorm about thirty minutes before class just to get to class on time. This takes away the whole purpose of doing or the convenience of doing. Many students dorm in a resident hall just to be near the academic buildings so they don’t have to wake up that early since college life is very stressful due to school
...school. Time is not an issue for students living on campus because they reside at the college, which makes it a lot easier to get to class. Whereas, students, who commute struggle to get up in order to catch a bus or two to get to class on time. Students living on campus can spend extra money on other things such as movies since they don’t have to pay for food or transportation. In contrast, students who commute need to save money on the side in order to have access to public transportation to get to class and pay for food at the school. Students living on campus are familiar with places around the college and they know more students. However, students commuting don’t have time for this since they are more worried about getting home on time. Living on campus should be considered by most college student since it appears to be a lot less stressful than living at home.
tourist for a tour of the city,. The place looks very congested, and it doesn?t look like
