Should Traditional High School Students Do Their Work?

Online enrollment is rapidly increasing every year. Even though there is a tremendous amount of positive feedback about online learning, there are others that see nothing but cons. I, on the other hand, see nothing but the postives. Online learning keeps students motivated to do their work because they are allowed to work at their own pace and can take classes most traditional high schools do not offer. The biggest struggle for most high school students, is keeping up with their work. Not being able to keep up with their work usually leads to missing graduation credits. Online schooling sets up their classes so they can make up the missing credits, and continue with the rest of the course. Some think that online schooling is just an easy way out, but the students still have to do the work they missed but its given to them at a better time so they have a quicker opportunity to catch up. With online schooling, you can work on an assignment until you actually understand it, unlike traditional school, which makes you move at the teachers pace, not your own. Being able to work at your own pace puts less stress on the student and gives them more motivation to do their work. …show more content…

Not all students are blessed enough to have a parent or their own car to take them to school, so they have to catch the bus extremely early in the morning. You could argue and say that most people do have their own ride to school but, about 55.3% of all students enrolled in school, take the bus ("National Statistics on School Transportation"). This means that over half of the United States students probably are not getting enough sleep.
