Should Students Prep for College Earlier?
It has been argued that students should start prepping for college earlier than they have been. Many say that they should start in middle school, or even elementary school. Some parents say that preparing for college earlier in the student's school career is essential, while others say it could lead to burnout. Having more time to prepare for college may be helpful, but it may also put more stress on students at an earlier age. I think that getting an earlier start on college prepping would be very beneficial to most students.
The first reason that preparing for college earlier on would be beneficial is because you have a better idea of what you’re saving money for. Most kids start saving for college early on, but they have no idea what exactly they are saving for. They also have no idea how much they need to save up. Today, kids can get scholarships for college and earn money other ways. However, some may not be that fortunate. Knowing what you are going to college for early on, helps you know what you need to be saving money for. Or, the students could even start buying the certain items they know they

If a student knows what they want to do for a living, they could start the schooling for it even earlier. Figuring out in middle school what you want to go to college for, could help kids better understand the type of classes they could take in high school to better their education. For example, if a student knows they want to be a nurse, when they get to high school, they can start to take the right classes. They could take classes like human anatomy, chemistry, or even math classes that they know they will need. They could also take some of the college classes their school offers, to get ahead in the whole college process. In doing this, it will cut down the time they will need to spend in college, which in return, will also cut down on
“They laugh at me because I’m different; I laugh at them because they’re all the same” Kurt Cobain once said. However, would it be a good choice to be different and accept going to college in an earlier age instead of attending to a normal high school? Of course this has been greatly disputed; due to the fact that many students have a hard time deciding which option is more convenient and would actually lead them to accomplish their goals. Even though there are many early college schools that would offer an Associate’s degree without having to pay anything, there is people that would prefer to pay their career by themselves and have a normal life as most high scholars do without having to worry that much. Of course that going earlier to college would be challenging but it can bring students better opportunities in life, and also help them mature more rapidly so they could be able to understand what life is in reality.
This discussion is important in our society today because we constantly push the idea of college on to kids that may not even be ready for
In his early teenage years a young boy looses his mother after she committed suicide and then is followed by the tragedy of losing his father in a car crash.
Students may think it’s unfair for some to go to college early and others stay behind, but this could actually separate the students who put in the work and effort to have this opportunity. If able, students should be able to start their lives early at a younger age because it brings about a greater experience. Starting their lives younger could be a great thing to go ahead and make their mistakes that every college student usually
Some students would argue that a college education is not a vital aspect of the future of children because it is too much schooling, costs too much, and it is not needed for their future. First of all, these students have struggled through 13 years of school whether elementary, middle, or high school. They have endured many long days and late nights to pass their classes. Although it is true that 4+ more years of school will be mentally tough and hard to endure, these important years will help shape
Society pushes today's youth towards higher education. The goal of grade school is to prepare the students for middle school. The goal of middle school is to prepare the students for high school. And finally the goal of high school is to prepare the students for college. The entire structure of education is to prepare youth for the next level of education. The problem with this system is that not all students are college material, as seen in the essay The Case Against College by Caroline Bird.
The main advantage to this is that it allows students to discover their interests. For instance, if a state requires that a student must take three years of chemistry or three years of physics, the student may choose one of those subjects and specialize in it. This in some way will help the pupil choose a college major and maybe a career.
One smart choice is learning how to save time and money. College teaches most people that time is money. It also helps with loans by encouraging critical thinking and planning ahead. In today's world, a job with a retirement plan typically requires a college degree, and such a plan can be invaluable in the future.
Finally I will give examples, sight articles and statistics that will persuade you that getting a college degree is important and no time is better to start than right after high school
In current times, children are told from a young age that college is imperative to getting a good, stable job. However, this is not always true. Therefore, it cannot be determined if college is always the best choice. Because each person is different and learns in a way unique to themselves, it’s up to each individual to decide whether or not they think they need further education based upon their goals, aspirations, and desires in life. There are many benefits to attending a college or university. For example, college graduates earn about $17,500 more each year than high school graduates. College degrees also give you more options. Not only do you have many career options after obtaining your degree, you also have differing options of how you acquire your degree. Colleges and universities have created many diverse programs, offering traditional classes, online classes, semi-online classes, and night and weekend classes. One of the biggest benefits of attending college is the real world experience you gain from being there and living partially on your own. For most people, college is a time where you can gain experience living with new responsibilities that you don’t have at home, without the pressure of having to pay bills on time
Many people want to have a specific job or atleast a job that pays quite a bit of money, but they need a good education to pursue a career. I recently interviewed forty-three year old Tony Platt who in high school had a dream to support his future family and live comfortably. I also interviewed twelve year old Tyler Salyer whose current dream is to become an elementary school teacher. In both of these situations education plays a very important role. It is almost impossible to get a very good paying job without a college education and nobody could become a teacher without it.
Most of the time spent preparing students for college is in high school. Some high schools are too easy on students, and this is not preparing them for the difficulty of the college level. To prepare students for college, they need to know what they want to go to college for. If a student does not know what they want to attend college for, then why send them. Depending on what a student wants to do in college, it will be a choice that will affect them throughout their whole life.
School is a process that takes time and a lot of dedication. When we finish high school we have to choose to go to college or not. Most people go to college without knowing what they want to do. The only thing we know is that we want a degree of some sort. Getting a college degree should be essential to everybody because without one you won’t be successful in life.
A child does not typically think about their life ahead. Although, they may not think about college, it is still there. Life ahead means getting a job to make money for everything else and if one wants a well paying job in the future, then college is the best option. College education is worth it because it makes a person better and more educated, college is not as expensive as some think, and the college pays for itself once there is a job to pay for it.
The purpose of a high school education is to prepare one for college and ultimately, the workforce. By the end of freshman year, in high school, the average student has learned a sufficient amount of material in enough subjects that he or she can be considered "well-rounded" in his or her studies. This is because the rate at which material is covered in schools, across the nation, has increased dramatically compared to the past. Students now learn more advanced curriculum at a younger age, and this continues to become more evident year after year. High school has now become more focused on teaching students a small amount of information on several essential subjects, rather than having them focus deeply on the subjects they seek to pursue in their career.
